StannisandDaeny
almost all of the names are really cool. This. The names often really fit the characters, somehow. Let's see if I can explain what I mean. Ashara Dayne (Sword of the morning -> Dayne -> Dawn), Sandor Clegane (Sandor is like a dog name and Clegane makes me think of a sword), Barristan Selmy (this name would immediately put the image of a friendly kickass grandpa in anyone's mind). Cley Cerwyn (Cley -> cleave Cerwyn -> they have a battle axe and it sounds like the name of some celtic warrior to me), Celtigar (reminds me of the Celts and he was portrayed as a bit barbaric). I know it may just be me and some may seem far-fetched but I like it better than when all the names are just plain obvious silly fantasy names like 'Longarm' for a giant or 'Strongaxe' for a dwarf. Dolorous Edd Tollet is indeed the winner. More examples (of random names): Stark -> as in stark, bleak.Boros Blount -> makes me think of the words bored, blunt.Chet -> his face looks like shit.Beric Dondarrion -> his last name sounds like thunder.Mace Tyrell -> he's fat and dumb and cumbersome like a mace.Frey -> Fright? Lemonraven
Actually Frey is a reference to norse mythology: Freyr (sometimes spelled Frey) was a god of fertility.
