Melpomene
Baratheon in itself is a pretty snazzy and powerful last name. Reminds me of the alleged name of King Arthur's father, Pendragon. Others...-Mellisandre-Balerion-Ser Pounce (OMG-SO-FREAKIN-CUTE)-Benjen Stark (A perfect uncle name)-Davos Seaworth-Targaryen last name in general-Blackfyre last name in general-Westerling last name in general (Sounds quite *posh*)-Lannister and Stark name in general-Beric Dondarrion-Emphyria Vance (An obscure name, I know, but thought it was pretty)-Salladhor Saan-Syrio Forel-Vortimer Crane (Another obscure one, but thought it was also cool)-Hot Pie (Just way too funny)-BarristanAnd there is a buttload more, but don't want to torture people with a longer list. Darn you Martin for your skill at name creating!

assjfjgjsgjljljglgjfjsduar
All of the Stark kids have cool names. I also like Daenerys, Greatjon Umber, Mace Tyrell, Cersei Lannister (if only because it sounds like Circe, which I'm sure was deliberate), Myrcella Baratheon, Beric Dondarrion, Theon Greyjoy, Ramsay Snow (Bolton just doesn't sound the same), pretty much all of the Targaryens, Galbart Glover, Ashara Dayne and a lot of the Martells. The nicknames are awesome, too: The Bastard of WinterfellThe Sword of the MorningThe Queen of ThornsThe Young WolfThe Mountain That RidesThe Red Viper

mediocre cheese
I always felt targaryen sounded Armenian. Like they rode their dragons in from the caucasus. Ramsay Snow. An unassuming name for such a villainous character.Stannis: the name is so fitting for himIllyrio mopatisstrong belwaswalder riversArchibald Yronwood. Flockofwords
Pah. Charming, evocative and melifluous as these suggestions may be, NOTHING beats Dolorous Edd Tollett. Nothing. He and his nom de guerre are both made of pure, unbridled win. :: plants victory flag for lugubrious Night Watchmen and prepares to defend it against all comers ::

HashRouge
This is my kind of thread, I often wonder how on earth GRRM comes up with such incredible names!! One of my current favourites is Black Jack Bulwer. Seriously, what a kick ass name! I like Iron Emmett as well. I adore the nicknames that GRRM comes up with more than anything, every time I read the Young Wolf, I wish I'd thought of it myself! I also love the Greatjon, Qarl the Maid, Whoresbane Umber, Robett Glover, Robert Baratheon, Asha Greyjoy and, of course, Robb Stark. It might be short, but it just rolls off the tongue so well! Maybe it's the way Robb is spelt with two Bs, but it looks completely different to Rob. Oberyn Martell is a cracking name, I love "Tully" as a surname.
