The one's I've seen lately are in the $150-275 range for the hardcover (the higher range for signed) and more for the limited.

Thanks. Hopefully getting a signed one for around $175, we'll see how it pans out!

I have

  • The books (GoT is a small HBO tie-in paper back, ACoK-AFfC are the large colored paperbacks, and ADwD is hardcover. I plan on getting a matching set eventually)
  • I own season 1-2 on blu-ray
  • I own The Hound vinyl figure

Unfortunately, I have a very small collection at the moment. Some day.

Here's what I have:

  • A Game of Thrones (HC Silver Cover, HC Jon Snow Cover, about 6 paperback copies that I loan out).
  • A Clash of Kings (1st ed. HC)
  • A Storm of Swords (1st ed. HC)
  • A Feast For Crows (1st. ed HC, Sub Press #404)
  • A Dance with Dragons (Sub Press #404, though I actually don't own the regular HC of this right now, because I loaned out my copy and never got it back :frown5: )
  • A boatload of Tom Maringer's Westeros coins
  • The Lands of Ice and Fire
  • Inside Game of Thrones Collectors Edition
  • S1-2 on BluRay
  • GRRM: A RRetrospective (Trade)
  • Legends 1/2 (and whatever other collections have the dunk & egg stories)
  • A bunch of other random GRRM books (Tuf Voyaging, Fever Dream, etc.)

That seems about accurate.

edit: and I guess a few calendars too.

I'm lucky enough to have quite a few signed 1st ed. books, Hedge Knight comics, the Blu-Ray of s1, all signed personally when I've met GRRM at various events in London. I also started collecting the Dark Sword miniatures and getting them professionally painted, but I've lost a bit of interest in them now.

My fave object is a beautiful map of King's Landing by Graig Kreindler (noted for his baseball pictures) signed both by the artist & by GRRM. https://www.dropbox....zqx2w/M4kW96xYM-

Since collecting ASoIaF stuff I've taken to buying as many signed 1sts & special eds of fantasy titles (esp. "Grimdark" types). Usually listen to the audiobooks and keep the books pristine. I have a pretty fine collection on my shelf now, another thing to thank GRRM for!

I was lucky enough to get the last one of these (1 of only 7):

That's awesome! That's just the dust jacket right, they never released a hardcover with that cover art (besides the ARC) did they? You've got a great collection! Some day I hope my collection looks similar.

Correct. A committee from the big book chains didnt like the romance feel of the art and convinced the publisher to change it. All copies were destroyed except the ones given to Stephen Youll.

Do you guys take out special insurance policies to cover these fab collections? Have you had them valued professionally? I recently approached my household insurers and said I'd need to do that.

I'd hate it if my collection was burned away or something and regular my household insurers offered me only replacement values of current non-collectible editions. Any tips appreciated re specialist insurers or valuers - I live in London.
