The way I see it, and perhaps I'm wrong, but the reason they fought for Rhaenyra was because of an oath they or their fathers made, but they are all pretty much unanimous that Viserys naming Rhaenyra his heir was a mistake, and in order not to repeat such a thing in the future, they agreed that Aegon II will be the one that is counted and not Rhaenyra. As for why Aegon III is the successor, well that's because his claim doesn't just come from Rhaenyra, but from Daemon as well.

In my opinion it was bad directing. I get the feeling she was told to do an accent similar to Shae's.

The guy swearing to Rhaenyra was Rickon Stark, Cregan Stark's father. Cregan is supposed to be in his 20's at the end of the Dance.

Might be intentional, but I saw people suggest that perhaps Rhaegar told Lyanna and she told Ned, which doesn't align with Ned being dismissive of The Others in both the book and the show.

I never understood why people concluded that there's a parallel between Alicent and Cersei. If anything Rhaenyra is more similar to Cersei: having many sexual partners, trying to pass off bastards as heirs, etc.. Alicent reminds me more of Catelyn to be honest. Dutiful daughter, dutiful wife, and the acceptance of her role in the patriarchal society as much as she expects the rules of that society will apply when it comes to her son.

Another thing that bothered me is that they decided to add the Greyjoys at the last minute afterall so they burned all of the plot device ships they mentioned two seasons earlier. They remembered the ships, but forgot Melisandre had a scene without the necklace.
