I seem to recall a similar sentiment last season. Then the Conference finals and Finals happened.

Really rough for OKC with the Nuggets hitting a bunch of tough shots in OT too. Nuggets can't expect MPJ to shoot like this every game though.
-
Gordon's proving his worth again with the Nuggets sending their first round pick to the Magic this year. So, when should Jokic stop shooting threes? He's wide open for most of those non-heaves/late shot clock.
-
Feels like the Nuggets aren't getting their usual calls in their home court. You'd think they are playing the Lakers instead of OKC.
-
So stick to the gameplan essentially? I think where I disagree is that a semi-contested threes or even midrange jumpers is a bad shot. Sure, unless its late in the shot clock, there is a chance you can get a better look. But they've been taking and making these shots all season. And some of these players are stars precisely because they take and make those shots. And Harden's made a career on drawing fouls on his step back three. And how many does he have to miss before you help off him again? I thought about it. Personally, I'd weight season average against past 3-5 games, and no matter how hot/cold a player is during a game, stick to the plan and live with the result. Also, unless they are a hopelessly bad shooter, if they get an wide open three, just shoot it no matter how cold they are. Nothing is worse than your star player working to draw defenders only to see a teammate hesitate and have the defense recover and have to start over again with less shot clock to work with.

Sure, but that's not what I mean. For example, if you're playing GSW, of course you'd be doubling Curry and leaving Draymond open. Then if Draymond hits three shots in a row, do you still leave him open? Or if Curry missed four shots in a row, do you then help off him? And if you're having a bad night on offense, do you just give up and not shoot no matter how open you are? Where do you draw the line? Edit - If the Celtics had even made a single shot more, we won't be having this conversation.

Curious as to when should teams change their strategy to adjust for hot/cold shooting for both offense and defense. Should the Celtics change their shot distribution from half their total being threes to maybe a third in response? How many games should they do it for? Should teams continue helping off Westbrook and Draymond? If a player is having a bad night should he just stop shooting? Gary Trent missed his first seven threes and then made eight of ten in that last Bucks game. Feels like a lot of the post game analysis is down to whether they made the shots or not. At some point, you have to live with your strategy and its results. Did the Celtics take some ill-advised shots? Sure, but they probably also took them in the regular season and made them. And its not like they didn't attack the basket, they just missed those too or turned the ball over. _ OKC Denver. Thought Denver played average and not terrible. OKC played unbelievable. Hard to think of any team that can stop them if they can keep that up. Made a bunch of tough shots plus some lucky bounces in addition to playing great defense and offense. Some of it even looked reminiscent of Denver's own offense. Think its hard to replicate this performance but they don't need to win by 40 either. _ A little concerned for Porzingis. An undiagnosable illness is worrying. Wonder if they should check his home for mold or other external factors if they can't find the cause.

Because most of his points come from his shooting and putbacks on offensive rebounds. With his injury, he's not confident going for rebounds and finishing at the rim, so if he doesn't make his shots, that's his output. Think he got blocked under the basket once and another going for an alley oop. Probably could have finished both if he could use both hands. Anyway, Westbrook and Watson can cover his minutes. Hopefully he gets better soon. At least he's not holding his arm in position as if he has it in a cast anymore.

Yeah, it wasn't that long ago. Don't even know when my memory got jumbled. Been saying since their losses to the Heat and Warriors that Celtics give games away with turnovers and poor shooting. The other team can't count on it for four games though. If it makes you feel better, the Lakers lost the game where their opponent missed 40 shots from three. Knicks need to work on their free throws too. Even when not counting Robinson, they are just 14/21. Do coaches have bobble heads? Think Adelman would make for a good one too. Looks like a toddler with his thin hair. Still just one game, and the Nuggets didn't keep the turnovers low, but going to score internet points while I can before the Nuggets get dismantled by the Thunder.

Somehow, I thought that draft went Cunningham, Mobley, Barnes and Suggs. What I recall was that the hype was four franchise players and a deep draft after that. Scary how quickly my memory goes.

I'm assuming that there is someone who makes it and someone else who broadcasts it. And if they are the same entity, then some sort of transfer pricing? And it's not about whether its fair or what repercussions it will cause. Just whether its achievable or not. They can draw all sorts of arbitrary lines as they go along.
-
When the US distributor acquires the rights to broadcast from the production company? And if the movie is filmed in multiple locations, they prorate by length? Its stupid, but its not undoable.

Let time expire?

Not sure about that last three after the teams were burning the clock. A record is a record and nobody will remember how he did it even a year from now, but can't respect him for that.
-
Yeah, I can root for pretty much every team but Brooks is a dealbreaker for me. Draymond is up there as well, but its not even close compared to Brooks. And the Warriors have Curry. They are on the other side of the bracket though. Even if we assume OKC makes it against Nuggets/Clippers, there is still the Wolves. Also Cavs have the best chance.
-
I was under the impression that you were rooting for game sevens.

Well, new GM new head coach, they might have other ideas. Think their owner has a reputation of being cheap as well. Upgrade with what? Not sure if there's a summary on offseason priorities out already, but they are in the second apron, have no draft picks and Nnaji is there for another three years at $8 million per year. Maybe they can count on Saric to decline his player option because he has no play time but if he just wants the salary guarantee then they are stuck with him. They can only hope for internal development from Watson, Strawther, Tyson, Pickett and the rookie who got injured so I never remembered his name. And before that they probably need to pay Westbrook while they negotiate extensions for Braun and Watson.

Zubac's been doing a good job on Jokic. Don't think Jokic has looked comfortable all series. Also, whatever you think of Westbrook's flaws, he is a great fit for this roster, giving them the third ball handler to take pressure off Murray and Jokic. And he's doing this for $3m which is less than what Reggie Jackson ($5m) cost last year. Wonder if the Nuggets can afford him next season as its a player option. Or maybe it doesn't matter if the Nuggets decide they are done with this core.
-
They just shot 15% from 3 on volume. Yeah, they made 50% in game one, but their latest showing is making them look just as vulnerable as any other team.
-
Miss 40 shots from three, getting dubious foul calls against them and the Wolves still pull it out. Wonder if Nico will gift Lively to the Lakers next if Lively shows some attitude in his exit interview.
-
Hope Doncic is okay. Feels like Lakers are losing most of the loose balls, getting massively outrebounded and are lucky to be only 10 points down.
-
If I'm the Spurs, I'd like to keep Barnes over any combination of Johnson, Vassell or Sochan. Yeah, he's over 30, but Giannis is 30 as well. Vassell has never been healthy, and I'm unsure what value he or Johnson has as a fourth option since neither is particularly good defensively and they can rotate their top three to carry the bench. Sochan is just raw. Waiting for him to finally breakthrough is a gamble. Barnes is a utility player who can do a little of everything and he doesn't need the ball.
-
Yeah, hoping that whoever wins play themselves into better form rather than burning out. And OKC looked vulnerable the last couple of games so there is some hope as well.
-
Huh. Guess he quit on the Sixers last season then. Ended with 43. Nuggets would like that with more consistency if they can make it past the Clippers. Not confident in either team against the Thunder so far.

People on this forum were complaining that Dame got no help on the Blazers and they were ruining his career.
