I would say the North becomes independent. I do think Dany burns down KL but I don't think she "goes mad" but becoming a tyrant, maybe. I can't connect the dots on how she gets there yet. But I haven't thought about it too much. Jon ending up north of the wall I could see happening and I still think he kills the NK. The burning of the Iron Throne I could see. I do think there will be a fight after the battle with the Others, but The Others are definitely the main enemy and take up a lot more. The Iron Throne is an after thought. Arya I could see sailing away trying to "find her home" or a place where she belongs. Honestly, that's about it. I think the rest of it deviates from the show. I don't see how Bran becomes King of anything really. Though there is just so much unknown with the 3 Eye Raven and what he is all about so. His story could go so many directions. Sansa I could see becoming Lady of the North, in the books she is learning from Little Finger, and learning things in the background. I just don't know how she gets there yet. But someone has to rule Winterfell, but there is Rickon so.... I guess he has to die somehow. Stannis dies obviously at some point but is going to win the battle of ice so. I think Cersei dies much sooner and Jamie completes his redemption arc. Personally I see either Euron or f/Aegon sitting on the throne as the final enemy but again, it's not this long drawn out battle, it's more of an afterthought. Like the scouring of the shire.

This should have been a 10/10 episode. The cinematography I thought was well done (for the most part). The musical scores were good. The acting was good. And, the greatest event that should have ever happened on TV happened with Cleganebowl. Also, we all knew Dany was going to go mad and do this... so it's hard to be too upset and disappointed with a move that was telegraphed that far ahead. My issues were the GC were a big nothing. Apparently Euron's fleet was nothing as long as your back is to the sun. Castle walls are a bit nothing (which maybe, I don't know.) Arya still can't die. The girl has been stabbed multiple times, jumped off buildings, burned or very close to burned by dragon fire, had buildings fall on her, it's just stupid. Dany going mad because when she saw the red keep it "made it personal" so she slaughtered all these innocent people? Come on. That's dumb logic. Northmen suddenly just slaying innocent people... Cersei dying in the arms of Jamie from a tower... I feel like we all got short changed on that one. But they love Lena so they wanted to give her the best death they could think of. Oh, and by the way, Jamie is half Arya apparently, being able to get stabbed multiple times and walk it off. Why did Euron care so much that he was the man who killed Jamie, seemed weird. Cleganebowl is the one thing they could have done to really save their bacon and it was alright. Maybe it is because I built up too much hype in my head. But the cuts from that and Arya were annoying. Just stick with one. But it was a fitting end for the two I guess. So long story short, most of it was pretty predictable, Dany going mad, which I do think will happen in the books was VERY poorly executed in the show. My group could not agree on why she went mad during the episode and even during the Inside the Episode, none of us knew what, "made it personal" really meant for her as a character. I give it a 3/10. Really a 2.5 but I round up for Cleganebowl. Edit: Also, when did Tyrion become such a self sacrificing character? I get wanting to save Jamie, even Cersei, but all of KL. Didn't he just have a scene 4 years ago about wanting to watch them all burn? What changed? It seemed kinda abrupt...

I guess I still have so much anger over the wight hunt from last season, that who season will always have that dark cloud over it. I am a book reader as well, and I just want to know how this crap ends. I really hope we get the books so I can get a true conclusion to it all, but I don't know....

This season appears to be trying to contend with last season for worst one in the series. This episode was OK in my opinion (but I thought the other ones were trash so.) My main issue is that you could have cut this episode down a lot. They didn't need to make a 40 minute drinking scene at Winterfell. It could have been cut down by 20 minutes easily. There were some interesting moments as long as you didn't think about them too hard, though that's routine. I give it a 5. Way better than last week's episode, I will give it that...

2/10. The music was good and the beginning scenes with Mel lighting the Dorthraki swords and the far away shot of them charging, really good stuff. The episode started off so strong. Then went downhill fast. This was by far the worst battle sequence they have done, not the worst episode (there have been other more pointless ones) but there was so much hype for this, and it fell flat hard. I will save the rest of my ranting for the appropriate section.

This was huge for me. At the end I didn't feel like this is going to be a giant epic stressful battle. They kept telling me it would be, but not showing. I am really tired of characters telling me how I should think and feel instead of showing me.

If this was a 10 episode season I think I would have liked it a lot more. But as of now, we have spent a third of the season basically having characters catch up. That's a lot... I did like this episode more than last weeks though, less "stupid" scenes. I really think they could have mushed last episode and this in one like 80-90 minute episode and cut a lot of the filler between the two. 7/10 but barely a 7. It was borderline with a 6.

I haven't been able to stand her for a while now (I never cared for her in the books... so maybe I was biased to begin with). But it seems like they are trying really hard to make her seem like a jerk, or more of a grey character. I think she will last till the last episode because of plot armor. But I hope she dies as the villain. It seems like the path she is going down.

5. It was a general intro to the season, with just six episodes I was hoping it would move along a little faster than that. King's Landing scenes were a mess. Sansa and Dany snark is already annoying. But Sam finding out about his father and brother, really well done. Same with his confrontation with Jon. All well done.

Or they just merged his character with other characters to simplify things on the show or ... something. (Though, you're probably right that he's not a Targ and is a Blackfryre .... I just really want him to be the real Aegon so bad ha).

If Wights can't swim, how did they get the chains under the dragon in episode 6? I am not trying to argue with you or anything, but that confuses me. Hence why I think they actually might be able to the heroes just don't know yet.

That's a huge assumption. I think Dorne will matter in the end game, or at least be around for it. D&D are trying to simplify things IMO. There are many things that the show chooses not to do because they don't feel it's important but that doesn't mean it isn't in the books. I honestly think this griff/young griff story will be important in the books, obviously doesn't exist in the show (maybe we can assume it's merged with Jon's character?). D&D's job is to simplify things for the audience and heck, they could have taken GRRM's ending and went, we can't do that and changed it. Or based their ending off of it. We all talk about how GRRM told them the ending, that's nice, are they doing it though? I haven't read one way or the other on that and probably won't till the show ends. Personally, and this is just me, I think we are getting a different ending to the show than the books. I think the show is setting up for a happy ending with maybe a few sad moments in it, but generally happy (Jon and Danny having a kid, no idea if they both live, and having their child rule the seven kingdoms and "break the wheel"). I don't see that happening in ASOIAF. The prediction stuff is obviously just all guesses by me and could be wrong but in the books I am willing to bet Dorne plays some major roles still.

This is part of what drove me crazy with last night's episode. There was no reason at all to have it run 80-90 minutes long. They barely had 60 minutes worth of content that they stretched out.

I feel like the odd man out but oh well, gave it a 4.To me this was another OK episode at best, in a bad season. I will probably put all my problems with it in the Rant and Rave section.

At this rate, if the show was the same quality as it was season 5 (which wasn't as good as the previous seasons but is better than it is now..) I would take that over this .... whatever this season 7 is, any day. haha. I am not going to lie, I didn't like Kit and Emilia at first. I didn't like their acting or really anything. Kit I now like, he has done a pretty good job with the role and grown into it. Emilia is an awful actress. It's painful to watch her scenes. Also, their love scenes are just so forced, IMO, it's like watching a train wreck.

3 Dialog was super clunky. I don't think a single scene made sense really. Hopefully the Arya/Sansa thing is going to be a good payoff I can't see yet (which is fine) and if it does this could go up to a 5. But the writing this episode was awful. Not even ASOIAF related, just issues with continuity and basic storytelling was awful.

I gave it a five but it could go up to a six possibly if some of these plot points pay off in the long run. There was set up and that was nice to see again. But they are going to capture a white walker and bring it back down? Come on. That's absurd.

Alright, that I will concede on. the show could definitely take that approach, I mean I guess the show could do any approach I guess haha. As far as the book though, I still don't see it. I haven't really taken that much notice of the foreshadowing of their pairing (might be just me) but with only two books left, a lot of loose plot that needs to be tied up and honestly, it's going to feel rushed already, there is too much to do, IMO. But to add a romance between two main characters (that would also be cliche and Martin doesn't typically do that) it wouldn't really seem feasible think, especially since one is dead and the other is on another continent with no ships... then again, maybe he takes the same approach as you stated, doing it out of duty.... Idk. Now if he expands the series to 3 more books or makes a Dream of Spring Part 1 and 2. Then maybe I could see it. But till then, I don't think so. Just my opinion!

To me, and again, this is just me, I never got that from the books (besides wishful fan thinking) and in the show it's just so heavy handed now that it feels sticky... I always saw Jon as duty before love and the only person he ever loved was Ygritte (and I like her a lot more than Dany!!!) the other opportunities he has had for a relationship/hookup/whatever he has turned down because duty came first. That shows how deep his love was for her and I think it would be ... tacky? Not sure if that's the right word, if he did it all over again for someone else. Maybe after the WWs come and wreck havoc though, he could... So, because he has a duty to the north so I don't think he would ever have a relationship with her. Plussss why? Why would they be attracted to each other? Besides being the two main characters, I don't see it. Again! Just me speaking, obviously I am probably way wrong about this. Though, I will say. The writers with all this "bend the knee" stuff, I think the only way they can get over it all right now is to make a marriage pact. To me it would seem the most logical thing, vs. Dany just suddenly changing her mind or Jon actually bending the knee.

You're not. I mean, I am not praying for it. I don't think it would make a ton of sense but there is a large fan base hoping for them to hook up.

The battle at the end was the only redeeming aspect of the episode to me. As long as I push battle logic out of my mind, it was pretty sweet to watch, right up to where Jamie got pushed into a lake that got magically deep. The Arya/Brianne scene was absurd. No way Arya, could keep up with Brianne. Can Arya fight well enough, sure, but Brianne is supposed to be on the same level as Jamie and he was one of the best swords men in Westeros. Sorry, I just don't find it believable. The rest of the dialog in the show was just poorly written. Bend the knee, Exposition, Bend the knee, Exposition, look at my cave drawings that just happen to be here but won't explain why the Children of the Forest would ever be that far down there... Bend the knee. Just tired of the same lines over and over without moving the plot forward. It's like they are trying to kill time and are not sure how to do it. Though, it was still the best episode this season, I think. So I gave it 8.
