  1. To the first - you sell now. He'll be free in a year, then you'll have to replace him without getting anything back. If someone wants him badly enough, that's a good deal in most circumstances. The second part - quite possibly, but this year keeps telling us things can always get worse.
  2. Seems like a heads you win, tails I lose situation for Everton right now. No doubt Moshiri has been bad news all round. Good thing if we don't go from bad to 777, but the interim there could potentially kill us off.
  3. So ... Administration is a possibility this season. Figures.
  4. As for the Everton game .. we're mostly solid again. This kind of defending is what I thought Benitez would be able to implement (Lampard not so much), but after having been so porous for years, having a tight team at the back is comfortable. If I'm to be positive (I am), I think that building from the back is the way to go for us. Defensive solidity coupled with set piece goals, and then try to improve the offense from there. The Moyes Way, if you will - his early teams was very much like this, while his final Everton team was actually a nice team to watch. If Dyche is capable of that remains to be seen, but he's got the first part down. Other positives from yesterday .. we scored. Chermiti looked very much at sea at the start of the game, but he grew into it, won some battles, had a few nice touches and looks like he'll be a useful player. Hope so. Bring on next season.
  5. Bryne FK keep a decent start going. We've won three, lost two, and of those two I'm slightly irritated about one. Today we beat the leaders Sogndal 1-0. Solid game, didn't really give them any openings, a well-managed match. Team looks about as good as can be expected.
  6. I'm not going to join in - we're on the south coast, and like England, it's the wind that's a killer here. Never too cold, but the wind can be biting. My sister'll be marrying a bloke from Senja later this year. They'll be living in Oslo, thankyouverymuch.
  7. Well, being smart and being wise are different concepts, as we all know. The Supreme Court hosts quite a few smart people, but - seemingly - five are sorely lacking in wisdom. So how to set up a society where such unwise people can be weeded out is a question worth pondering.
  8. And yet it's not the way they go now. But I'm not sure the 'boot room' model is replicable. More a one-off, I suspect.
  9. We hold on, and we're eight points above Luton, who have 12 to play for. That should see us safe.
  10. Given how good a leap he has, and his heading ability, I would think somebody was tasked with following DCL, but I can't say for certain.
  11. I see now that it's TAA. Thinking he can cover DCL in the air is deluded.
  12. van Dijk is in front of Tarkowski, and Tarky blocks him from getting to the duel. No idea who's supposed to pick up DCL - there was nobody around.
  13. Ashley Young is on. We'll lose 4-1.
  14. Being a goal up is preferable to being a goal down, but I'm glad the derby isn't played more often. I absolutely hate watching, just waiting for us to slip. Also concerning that Mykolenko is doubtful for the second half. He's our only left back, and a good one at that.
  15. Ah. Derby day. So, today we have every chance of doing worse than we did in the I'm-still-convinced-it-never-happened-match against Chelsea.
  16. Yeah, there is an element here of who's teaching. Darwin has the bonus of being in a clearly defined system with a very good manager, whereas Jackson ... is at Chelsea. It would be interesting to have Jackson in another team where he had a clearer system and better management, to see if that would help him with the issues you mention. Have to admit I've watched less of Chelsea than of Liverpool, so I might be very wrong. And yes, if there's something you can't fault Darwin for, it's his effort and energy. He'll chase absolutely everything, at top speed.
  17. Jackson, like Darwin (well, more than Darwin, really) will become an elite striker if and when he starts hitting the net. Given how he plays, it might be an idea for Chelsea to do a Joelinton with him and turn him into a winger. I mean, nobody would miss Mudryk on the left..
  18. Well, as we all know, VAR is a Luton fan, so ... No, I have no idea what it means.
  19. I'm sure Samuele Allardici could be tempted to take a job, as long as it's up to his high standards.
  20. I'll have to agree on Tate, and it's mystifying how Forest and us have been deducted points, but nobody deducts points from Luton because of that scumbag.
  21. I'd be irritated if we'd had all those three almost-calls go against us (and given it's Ashley Young in all three, I'd probably be livid). So I can't really be mad at Forest for being mad. Maybe not blame Luton, though. The poorest club in the PL isn't likely to be the one bribing VAR.
  22. We win. We're five points above Luton, who have four games to go. I'm happy-ish.
  23. TV cameras filming everywhere else for four minutes sort of indicates this is serious. On the footballing side - McNeill scoring that is improbable, sure, but Gana scoring is impossible. I've never seen him hit the target from outside the box before.
  24. I don't for a second believe Trossard aimed where he hit that. It still is a stunning goal.
