  1. Burnley lacking a good striker. I can't believe they weren't in the market for a Neal Maupay.
  2. Rather ok game, the goal against excluded. Third goal is showing something we need. First two are very Dychey, but the last one - good movement from DCL, great pass from Garner - is something I'd like to see more of. But if so we need to move Garner more central, and I don't think that's an option for Dyche just yet.
  3. Was always coming, tbf, but nice that it's a well worked goal and not something that comes off Mykolenko's backside.
  4. Too close for an attempted pass. Clear for me, offside by the rules. Though, has always been a strange rule.
  5. Anyway, tomorrow's the day I'll get mad. Everton I reckon will get smashed by Arsenal, and Bryne has been doing too well lately, so tomorrow we're due a bad loss. Calling it now.
  6. Are we at the point where the whole football thread will get banned? Methinks I'll watch my mouth a bit.
  7. Not sure if "fit and proper" is a thing, or if they are indeed that (most likely not). And they can of course be worse than Moshiri. It would take a lot of effort to be, though. My bet is we're getting more of the same.
  8. So, with the history of the board in mind, and thus mindful of the danger of spin-off threads with debates about reading order ... Should I try to read these, where do I start?
  9. Surprised that the biggest game of the weekend - the Jæren Derby - isn't mentioned yet. But fear not! Bryne FK crushed local upstarts Sandnes Ulf 3 - 0 at home, after goals from Tobias Guddal, Lars Erik Sødal and Sjur Jonassen. This leaves us only a couple of points outside qualification for PL as of now. There's about 10 points down to qualification for relegation too, but why focus on that? Heia Bryne!
  10. Ah, Tony Yeboah. Scorer of a couple of fantastic goals. Have to see if I can find video... Vs Wimbledon vs Liverpool
  11. Well, Ancelotti is a decent-ish manager, I'm not all that surprised he gets something to work.
  12. We're not getting anywhere near top six. But given a half decent goal scorer, we'll be mid table. And as it happens, we've scored twice today, which is less than we should have but more than we would if our striker was still Maupay. Baby steps.
  13. Frustrating, this - when we play normal football, we're way better than Sheffield U. And we've just equalized. But we allow counters, easy chances, all that jazz. Also, side note, but Andy Madley facing a wall that doesn't move back where it should be, what does he do? Show them where they should be? Give them a second to react? Show a yellow for not obeying? Nah, stress that. He moves the line 30 cm forward instead. What sort of stupidity is that?
  14. We're losing, all right. Gana seems to be fit for retiring now. He wins balls almost like he used to, but he misses some, which leads to dangerous situations, and he misplaces dangerous passes altogether too often for comfort. Right now, since Doucourè is a lock for attacking mid, we should put McNeill in and remove Gana. Onana / Garner will have to take the defensive position - probably Onana covering and Garner trying to set the pace for the team.
  15. Now, I'm not an ideal test person, I'd guess, but I did enjoy the first two Kingkiller books (first more than the second), and I've only watched the first season of TV GoT. I'm more in the "meh" camp about TWOW - I think we *might* see it, but I think it's likely we won't see the series finished, and I can live with that, even if I'd rather see the final books. For Rothfuss, I'm more irritated. I don't think he's obliged to finish his series per se, but at the very least I'd expect him not to lie about it as often as he has. It's at a point where - even if I did like his first two - I'm not sure I'd buy a third should he ever actually release it.
  16. Haven't followed him since he left us, but at Everton he fell through completely. Couldn't follow the pace of the PL, and ended up a peripheral figure.
  17. Seems we're loaning out Maupay (I'd sell, but who'd pay?) and selling Iwobi (which makes sense, if we're not going to play him as a 10). Not really convinced we'll have more people coming in, so those out means we know what we have until January.
  18. Twice! I predict this is the end of the world.
  19. Beto is on and has had his first finish. So far looks like Maupay in that department. ETA: Jinxing works! 15 goals in all competitions is ON
  20. Shocker! We're behind! For the first 45 minutes, we have a second game where we could more or less change 9 players to try to make a difference (Onana and Pickford haven't been actively bad). But our pressure is half-hearted, our defense can't pass out (90% of passes go Pickford - Keane - Mykolenko - long under pressure) and as a result our midfield and Chermiti aren't in the game at all. Not sure how the club's supposed to turn around - rot seems everywhere.
  21. Today is the day! We will start our march towards twin cup wins with a comprehensive trashing of Doncaster. Or, more likely, we'll play crap and lose by three goals.
  22. Well, I think we go down, so I'm predicting us doing a Wigan.
  23. I'm guessing that's all competitions. He won't score 15 league goals.
  24. I guess that, similar to other Dyche teams, his job is to be a presence up front, which will make space for others. 15 goals would be ok, I think.
