Personal opinion. I think Natalie Dormer looks every one of her 30 years. Claire is and looks younger - she's mid twenties and at only 5'2 looks younger than that. And Bran having a crush on Meera is at the very far end of a romantic link - considering he seems to be turning into a tree at the moment I can't see how their future has any well.. future?

I never felt that Ned didn't believe the man, rather that was beside the point. The man signed up to protect the realm from White Walkers - part of the duties of the Nights Watch. He was beheaded for desertion, not because he wasn't believed.

I wouldn't normally punt her for Meera, but as they aged everyone up so far, especially Margaery, and Meera isn't romantically linked to anyone, I don't see how her age would matter. I know the wiki states that Val is blonde but I don't remember reading that description in the book.

Claire Garvey for Val! Or Meera Reed. She is northern and a great unknown choice with magical eyes.
