  1. Do I think Disney MCU's Wolverine will be as violent as the film Logan? No. But other than that, I'd imagine the character will be portrayed just as violent as he was in all the other Fox films. As WIB said, not like he's too controversial in them, seems on-par with where the MCU wants to situate itself.
  2. Heh, a little bit of the first two, however contradictory that sounds. I agree that Heard looks more mature than Leslie, but I still think they look around the same age thereabouts if I saw them on the street and had to guess.
  3. Sorry missed this until now, but say what? Leslie is like 9 months younger than Heard.
  4. So, the opposite of the leftovers? The rightunders?
  5. Fair point. In that case I'd also include Colossus and Kitty. And yeah, their rogues gallery is outstanding - I'd really like to see Mister Sinister.
  6. I was exposed to XMen via the 90s TV show, never read the comic (or really any comics). Their principal cast was Scott, Jean, Logan, Storm, Rogue, Beast, Gambit, and Jubilee. If I could choose I'd sub out Jubilee and add Angel and Iceman to include the original 5. Also like the idea mentioned above of Rogue and Nightcrawler starting out as villains w/Mystique, but it appears my cast is already getting bloated.
  7. I have an irrational hatred for Clint Eastwood. And I don't think I've seen any of the movies Scott's been in (nor have I seen any of Clint's movies since..Mystic River due to said irrational hatred). Hardy, meh, I could see it, but again, not too inspired.
  8. Yeah gotta say none of the names in the OP are particularly appealing to me - had to look up who Scott Eastwood was. I'd be fine if they just had Laura as Wolverine, that actress did a great job. Also be fine if they have a male wolverine, just hope she's still cast as X23 whenever they reboot XMen.
  9. Anyone hear about what happened to Sonya Deville yesterday morning/Saturday night: The cops are saying he cut a hole in her in a screen to enter her patio then posted up for 3 to 4 hours just watching and listening. Fucking creepy! Glad everyone's alright.
  10. Remember Giant Gonzalez? Dude could barely get down the aisle. Then of course Andre who Vince continued to use even after he had trouble simply moving.
  11. Yeah I stopped watching shortly after Vince bought WCW. Part of that was just cuz of life, but Austin was on his last legs, Michaels wasn't back yet, Foley was pretty much done, and Rock already had one foot out the door. They had so much talent upon that purchase (and even before when Benoit/Guerrero et al. quit) - as they do now - but he just squanders it.
  12. Just a decade? C'mon. But yeah, the Network is quite worth it - if you want to get all nostalgic. I got it for a year. After that, I had my fill and canceled.
  13. Any time you weirdass Kentuckian Niner fan.
  14. I don't have Roku, but if the app gets you WWE Network, then you'll be able to watch any "PPV." I wouldn't even call them pay per views anymore, you're technically just paying for the network.
  15. The "IWC" has been at the forefront of spewing typical internet hate and outrage for over twenty years now. Actually I got into posting on internet discussion boards back ~1998 and experienced it back then. So it's hardly shocking that's going to be the case whenever Vince does something particularly assholic.
  16. You see WWE was deemed an "essential business" by Florida the same day Linda's Super-PAC committed to spending $18.5 million in Florida? Gotta make up the cost of bribes somewhere!
  17. But he reached out his hand to show he'll keep fighting! Anyway, I still haven't seen any of it. Interesting that the opinions here on the two are somewhat of the reverse of the IWC consensus I've seen - most seemed like or even love the Boneyard one while hating the Firefly Funhouse one. Like brian mentioned, I think perhaps the Boneyard one is given undue credit because, obviously, a "match" where you can edit & integrate special effects is going to be much better than trying to watch that old man listlessly meander around the ring live.
  18. I didn't see it, but I read that he celebrated by pointing to imaginary fans on the turnbuckle like one usually would do. Something about that just breaks my heart.
  19. So anybody wanna put odds on Wrestlemania being cancelled/postponed? It's in Tampa, and I think it's getting pretty likely WWE will be forced to by local officials. Vince is gonna choke somebody.
  20. Just read the results from WWE's most recent Saudi show. It's getting beyond parody or absurd at this point, which I'm not sure there's even a word for. You have two title matches that last a combined 3 minutes and 40 seconds, and Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesner are your champions going into Wrestlemania in 2020 - after they were booed out of MSG for being quitters upwards of 15 years ago at Wrestlemania in which Austin picked up a pay check pretty much simply by flicking them both off. Oh, and Taker came back and apparently won a "special trophy" match in 5 seconds by burying AJ Styles even though he was never a participant.
  21. I'd heard a bit about the rumors of Edge returning, but haven't been even following online much the past few months. So I was very surprised when I read the Rumble results that Edge not only returned but ended up in the final four - and that he's apparently signed a 3 year contract so it looks like he'll be one of their "special attraction" occasional performers. I mean, I'm happy for Edge if this is what he wants, but dude's 46, the neck injury(ies) that forced him into retirement sounded very serious, and Beth Phoenix and him have two small daughters. I dunno, just hope this ends up a happy ending but really worried for the worse. Even more so than Bryan. I can't imagine Edge needs the money, right? Anyway, like how they gave Drew McIntyre the win - and the honor of eliminating Brock. Hopefully they really do run with him, I might toon in if so. Also, while from the recap I read said this year's women's rumble was a considerable improvement from last years, bit disappointing to see Charlotte win. Or maybe just boring.
  22. Surprised no one's mentioned CM Punk's kind-of return to WWE. Yeah, it's a Fox contract, but it definitely opens the door. In terms of age and career trajectory, he could be a lot like HBK, who solidified being my favorite wrestler ever by coming back after a broken back and addiction to have a great old man run -- even though I wasn't really watching at that point.
  23. I watched a bit of AEW. Saw the spot where Moxley put Omega through a table. It was nice hearing JR again and everything, but I don't see it. Sure I sound like an old man saying this, but during the attitude era there was a certain intensity among the performers that is just not there now. Moxley and Omega might as well have walked to that spot and been like "ok, here we go." I dunno, color me unencouraged.
  24. So just saw WWE is putting on a NXT show on USA Wednesday nights to go head to head with AEW on TNT. Not sure how I feel about that. Glass half full, it will help emphasize that the NXT way of doing things can draw a continually growing and loyal fanbase. Glass half empty, Vince will ruin NXT.
