Idk I think NCW and Natalie Dormer have kind of beat her to the punch there. I saw that on Netflix and vaguely recognized the name "Gethin Anthony", only to check IMDB and remember that was the name of the dude who played Renly. Apparently he plays some sort of womanizer in that movie...talk about playing against type. I wasn't an overly big fan of show Renly...I mean I'm fairly lukewarm on book Renly as well but at least book Renly had a prescence that I felt his show counterpart severely lacked, though Id venture to guess that was because of D$Ds writing as opposed to Gethin Anthonys capabilities as an actor, so I'm willing to check it out. Irl Ive actually been told I look like a younger Liam Cunningham, largely because at various points in my life Ive hard a full beard similar to his...without the salt and pepper coloring obviously. I thought it wasn't as accurate without the beard though because I'm more babyfaced than him, but seeing him in First Knight, where he was young and pretty babyfaced himself, it kind of boosted my self esteem a bit lol. I actually even have curly dark brown hair like he did when he was younger, though I cut mine shorter.

Whiplash I really want to see too, being that I studied jazz guitar in college, albeit in a significantly less competitive program and without an abusive teacher, though I have heard many horror stories about people who study in more competitive music school type places. But that's neither here nor there. And, drama mixed with dark humor is exactly why I love McDonagh movies. And I definitely have an affinity with Ireland (I'm Irish American, though I've never been there unfortunately). The Catholic Church...my family is Catholic, I personally consider myself more of a Pantheist, but nonetheless, I'm quite aware of the cultural implications of that. So its nice to know I'll have even more to appreciate knowing that.

Is Calvary any good? I'm a huge fan of the McDonaghs, though as much as I like In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, The Guard might be my favorite of all of them. Another movie with Brendan Gleeson starring and John Michael behind the camera was almost good enough to tempt me to use a BestBuy giftcard to buy it...but I'd still at least like to have a recommendation because I'm a cheap bastard.

John Wick was probably my favorite movie of 2014 thus far and Aflie killed it in that film, even though he was definitely somewhat typecast in it. Liam Cunningham has also become probably one of my favorite actors. I didn't even know he was going to be in it, but I recently watched The Guard with Brendan Gleeson, where Liam plays one of the villains, who is having an existential crisis and reads Nietzsche, and he was hilarious.
