[TWoW Spoilers] Aeron I (Balticon)
Lost Melnibonean replied to Free Northman Reborn's topic in The Winds of Winter
I stopped watching the show several episodes ago, so I have no idea what y'all are referring to, nor do I want to know, but I could see Cersei hooking up with Euron if she feels desperate. Recall that she considered attempting to use her wiles on Stanis if necessary. -

His father likely would have given him a knife and said, "Here's how you stop that." -

A sphinx is a chimera. Chimeras are often used by artists to represent fraud. -

Not everything has to be new. We already knew Euron had buggered we Aeron, didn't we? Please point out for me where the number of dwarfs was stated. -

If Euron had a glass candle or greenseeing ability, would you think Euron was inspiring these visions? Like Bloodraven inspired Jaimie's vision in Storm? Or Quaithe inspired Daenerys's vision aboard Balerion? -

You are a real person (I think) not a character in The George's fantasy. -

Aeron's first vision... Euron thinks of himself as a god, doesn't he? Isn't it likely that Euron is inspiring and shaping the shade-of-the-evening visions? See what I mean? Euron really is in Aeron's head. The dwarfs have to be Tyrion and Penny, no? Is the burning forest the Kingswood? Doesn't this vision suggest that Euron will take, or intends to take, King's Landing and to seize the Iron Throne? Does Euron believe that he is this new charnel-born god? We have a dragon horn in Slaver's Bay, and a kraken horn in the Narrow Sea. But we don't have sphinx horn. If the dragons, krakens, and sphinxes are metaphorical, Daenerys would be the dragon, no? This seems likely given that Tyrion is going to be caperin for him. The krakens would be the Ironmen, no? Could Aegon be the sphinx? This further suggests that Euron will, or intends to, seize the Iron Throne. Euron is anathema to these gods. If this is Euron, he is suggesting that these gods cannot stop him. -

Just before Aeron is taken to the ship near the end of the chapter, Aeron tells us, "Something has changed. Something has happened." What do you supposed happened and changed? -

Shoot, I was so looking forward to the scene where Missandei, Daenerys, the Dusky Woman and Victarion all meet and it turns out that Euron has been glamouring Missandei's mum, whom Victarion has been keeping as a bedwarmer. Bummer. Does anyone still really believe that Daenerys would willingly wed Victarion or Euron? Other than the fact that Aeron Greyjoy has been lashed to the prow of Euron's ship, is there any reason to assume this satisfies the second bride of fire vision--A corpse stood at the prow of a ship, eyes bright in his dead face, grey lips smiling sadly? -

What about Leon Hightower? Is he leading the ships down the Mander, or is he sending them? If it is the former we can put the Leyton = Haldon theory to rest. -

Is that confirmed? Aeron is killed? -
The dragon has three heads. House Targaryen's sigil is a three-headed dragon breathing flames, red on black, and no man can question the blood of Daenerys Stormborn. A blue flower is growing from a chink in a wall of ice and filling the air with sweetness. Aegon's greens fought against the first Targaryen queen regnant in the first. Dance of the Dragons.

You left out Grover.

Bad things happen in war. Even Stannis could not prevent bad things, but could only punish the offenders. Jon Connington does not have total control over the Golden Company. -

Let's say he defeats that army descending upon Storm's End from King's Landing. And let's say he learns that Euron is besieging Oldtown. Might Aegon then march against Euron, gathering friends in the Reach to his banners? If so, might Daenerys arrive at Oldtown as Aegon finds himself hard pressed by foes as Tyrion predicted? -
