  1. ^Why would anyone want to go North right now though? LF was definitely slighted/ insulted more by the Tully's than by the Starks and Sansa's claim to Riverrun and Harrenhall is just as good as her claim on Winterfell. It is even stronger when you consider that Rickon would take Winterfell and cannot rule all 3. With Jeyne Westerling being in the prologue someone, very possibly Edmure is going to bite the dust, that would make the order on Riverrun, Edmure son, Bran, Rickon, Sansa. With Bran north of the wall, and Rickon taking Winterfell, that leaves Riverrun for Sansa, and Harrenhall is for Arya. In all the time that it will take for things to play out in the Vale, the situation in the North will have changed and Sansa will be much les valuable.
  2. Jaime never even saw Shagwell fight so I have no idea where you are getting that from. You are right though, I did assume you didn't like Brienne and I apologize for that, but I think your dead wrong about her skill level, and Shagwells. Shagwell wounded Brienne with a broken spear against a VS sword. Rorge weighed like 300 lbs and was taller than Brienne as well. As for your statement that sellswords and mercenaries are not good fighters, I think that is pretty ridiculous and flies in the face of everything we have seen. Dario, Bronn, the GC, mercenaries fight all the time, in real battles with real swords, whereas many of the knights we see in the story were never in a real battle in their lives. IMO, and I've never been in a mid evil battle, if you make it threw like a dozen battles that you must be a pretty good fighter.
  3. ^1 skilled opponent? What the hell is your definition of skilled? I consider Loras skilled, I consider Rorge skilled, shagwell and the other 2 are both experienced sellswords who survived numerous battles, Jaime Lannister wasn't skilled? She won a melee where everyone targeted her, just because you don't like her doesn't make her not a badass warrior.
  4. ^If Shadrich works for Varys as he said, then that could mean taking her to Pentos for safekeeping, as he would not want Cersei getting her hands on Sansa. Edit: Not that I think Sansa is going to be kidknapped at all.
  5. ^I agree that there is foreshadowing in that department, but is it foreshadowed that she will burn the city, or foreshadowed that she will try? After all, Cersei has not done much succeeding since AGOT. If she actually succeeded, how would Jaime or anyone for that matter get to strangle her? She will already be dead.
  6. ^Ya, seems like we are largely in agreement The Weirwood Eyes, I don't see Jaime being hand or anything like that either. IMO Aegon is sure to sit the throne, and I believe the day he does Dany will take Dragonstone, kind of mimicking the way that the day Harrenhall was finally finished, Aegon landed. Tyrell power is being pressed on all sides, and 1 failure will seriously limit their ability to combat the other threats. Rowan is taken or dead as we know Aegon has Storms End, a force is on its way to meet them and imo is going to get slaughtered Hannibal style or flip flop or a combo with some men in the rear flipping sides. Euron achieving victory seems really far fetched, but also plot necessary so I don't even know what to think about his attacks on Highgarden/Oldtown. I definitely think Garlan is a dead man walking though, he's gonna die at the hands of Harlaw.
  7. How did Jaime become hand? Is everyone forgetting that GRRM said multiple people will sit the Iron Throne before the end? Its not just going to be Lannisters and then Dany.
  8. ^If LF dies, Sansa has the lord of the Vale in her pocket, and if Harry is still alive she has the heir too, that at least buys her a chance to explain everything to Bronze Yhon/Nestor. I cannot understand why you think Sansa would voluntarily leave. Everyone likes her, why would they all just turn on her because they found out her true identity?
  9. ^That's what I'm thinking. I don't see how LF could ever get Harry to love him, especially if Harry is Lord of the Vale and is rich and powerful in his own right. It seems like the best he could hope for would be Sansa convincing him to give LF the troops he needs to take up his seat at Harrenhall. While that doesn't seem like a far out notion, he could probably have hired sellswords to do the same thing. There is another potential plot involving Harry that LF could be going for but seems kind of repetitious. He could want Sansa to marry Harry and get pregnant, then knock off both Harry and Robert and then Sansa would be where Lysa was when she arrived in the Vale. Then LF could potentially marry Sansa and have everything he wants, but he would still have to raise another mans child and sacrifice Sansa's virginity. Although, while many people think that is something LF would value, the 1 thing LF actually believes he got from Catlyn was her virginity, so maybe he does not place a high value on Sansa's.
  10. I'm starting to think that LF will kill Harry the Heir and that the whole betrothal was his cover. If Harry dies/ is killed now everyone will think LF is loosing out because he had made an awesome match for his daughter.
  11. Its winter, Tycho is in the wolfs wood, his ships are gone... Thats only the beginning of the list of horrors.
  12. I wonder what this chapter says about the fate of Tycho Nestoris and Justin Massey. It seems to at least indicate that Bravos has not yet fully and openly thrown in with Stannis. I have to say that I thought there was more to a contract with the Iron Bank than the simple piece of paper, especially when Stannis signed in blood. If the Iron Bank won't know about the contract unless Tycho safely arrives back in Bravos, the deal does not have a high chance of success.
  13. Actually, Jon doesn't even find out until Stannis is gone.
  14. So, looks like GRRM released the Arya chapter because it coincides with who she kills, and how she kills him in the show.
  15. Ya it was great, not as good as the new Arya chapter tho. Seems Barristan is doing a pretty good job of things.
  16. Based on the first paragraph it is the same chapter GRRM has already read from where Tyrion see's the dragons eating men from the trebuchets and the representative of the Yunkish getting told where he could stick it by the sellsword companies.
  17. Of course things are spelled out, you just don't seem to like connecting the letters.
  18. Your statement that Sandor is the grave digger is correct, the hound is dead your right. But thick unproven assumption? Come on Sandor being on the quite isle was spelt out for us when the head brother told us how he "died" and was reborn during the war of the 9 penny kings.
  19. He would not have had the Dragons any more than Quentyn did.
  20. Well, I'm not convinced Dany will ever go back to Mereen, but she would be able to confirm the Aegon part of Tyrions story easily enough while in Volantis. Since so many Volanteene ships were used to ferry the Golden Company across the narrow sea and since Aegon is seemingly conquering the Stormlands very fast. We also do not know the whole story behind the Tattered Prince, he may be able to shed some light on Ilyrio, and maybe even Varys pasts. Ilyrio tells Tyrion how when something bad happens to Pentos they blame the prince and replace him, and in one of Quentyns chapters we hear the the Tattered prince was about to be made the prince of Pentos but that instead he fled the city. Could be a story here, could be he didn't want to be blamed for a crop shortage, either way I suspect we will find out.
  21. Yes, but she has not met Tyrion yet, thus has not been told about Ilyrio's true intentions all along. How much loyalty will she feel to Ilyrio when she learns he had Aegon in his pocket the whole time and did not expect her to survive in the Dothraki sea?
  22. Mormont told Sam it was his wish that Jorah take the black.
  23. Uneventful? They were short chapters that both advanced the plot and planted subtle clues to the future of the plot. The fact that there are caves likely warded against the dead and white walkers in Dorne/ the Stormlands. Can't remember which for sure, I think it was Dorne. The obviously foreshadowing for Dany and Aegon fighting, admittedly already foreshadowed. Letting us know that Aegon has taken Storms End, letting us know that Dorans hosts have already lost strength and loose more all the time, letting us know about the Balon Swann Areo Hotah Darkstar plot. I'd say they were more eventful than the usual chapters.
  24. If Barristan survives and Jorah dies, Barristan will betray her for love of Ashara.
