Guinevere Seaworth
I found Life Ascending: The Ten Great Inventions of Evolution by Nick Lane a mixed bag. I found some chapters such as Complex Cells and Hot Blood to be fascinating and others such as Movement and Consciousness to be tedious. The author does a good job of reducing complex biological processes into simpler terms but I felt he used weird analogies far too often to illustrate his point. When he started comparing muscle proteins into classical music I had to roll my eyes.Starting Heaven's Queen by Rachel Bach. Can't wait to dive into this one! Myshkin
Reading "the Garden of Evening Mists" and absolutely loving it. Wonderful imagery and writing. That's good to hear, I've had that book sitting on my shelf for a while now.
Linsox
Finished my slog through Way of Kings earlier tonight. I don't think I'll continue on to Words of Radiance.Tomorrow I begin Kadare's Chronicle in Stone, an Albanian novel about growing up during WW2. deleted01
Finished Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. A good read, despite struggling to read the tiny print in my edition without my glasses on. It's also got The Merry Men and Other Tales and Fables in it. I started The Merry Men last night, but I may not read all of the other stories right now. Anatúrinbor
Halfway through the Shining Girls. I'd like to know more about the killer, but nothing else interests me.
