GallowsKnight
I think his gout will continue to get worse, and he will die when he hears of what happened to Quentyn. How was it? I'm interested to know. It was a wild peahen that had been killed via bow at some distant cousins of mine's house, which we took back to cook. We probably overcooked it but all I remember it was like turkey but darker with a very gamey taste.
voodooqueen126
Charles V of Spain had gout. He and his son Philip have some similarities to Doran Martell. Perhaps Charles's son John of Austria is a little bit like Oberyn Martell.
TalalOfDorne
Unfortunately, I don't see him overcoming the gout. Its obviously getting worse, and will continue to get worse. If a maester could cure him, he would have done it a while ago.
BricksAndSparrows
It would help if he stopped viewing those fat, ripe blood oranges as a metaphor for himself, House Martell, mortality etc., and ate a couple instead. High amounts of vitamin c make it worse
