a proposal to change current board protocol

it occurs to me that members in good standing on this board are privileged with the option to change at will many aspects of their board identities, such as their board name and profile picture. this i believe is a good thing, allowing for a communal sense of ownership over all board posts. however i see one major problem within the design of this feature. a person shedding a previous identity in favor of a new, perhaps more comfortable identity will have the new identity overlaid upon all posts made and action taken by the old identity. this is cause for concern, as it undercuts the strong ideals of our shared community by propping up a structure, inadvertently of course, that glorifies individualism. i believe this flaw can be eradicated from our system by a single small change in board policy, and so i propose that from now onward all posts made should forever carry the board name and profile picture that were in use during the time at which they were made.
