They will leave things open for a sequel movie or sequel miniseries. This is a prediction that I made some time ago, but forgot about, as D&D's storytelling hit turbo mode and they really seemed in a hurry to kill everyone off and wrap everything up. But now it is beginning to look like maybe I was more or less right after all. But perhaps I speak too soon. I'll think again after I see the final episode.
