Ormond
I just learned that Scottish author Alasdair Gray died December 29. (I am attending the American Name Society convention and a student who gave a paper on the names in his novel Poor Things mentioned it at the end of her talk.) I have read three of Gray's novels. I really enjoyed both Poor Things and Lanark. They both have a lot of fantasy or science fiction content. Gray's death is a great loss to Scottish and world literature and I recommend him highly. https://locusmag.com/2019/12/alasdair-gray-1934-2019/
Lord of Rhinos
I got to admit. I had no idea Alasdair Gray was still alive (until December 29th). Its always odd reading a post like this where you find out the world was not what you thought and than ten seconds later it is restored to what it was.
