The sacrifice happened at the end of one chapter, and Bran opened his eyes in the very next.

This really a great catch!

Beric went to the Riverlands on a mission he was assigned by Ned, and while with subsequent deaths and revivals he lost more and more of his own personhood, he never lost that core mission of eventually bringing Gregor Clegane to justice.

I've noticed and commented on this before.  Beric continues what he was doing for Ned after his revival,  as Lady Stoneheart does for Cat.  She had just killed Jinglebell before having her throat cut.  Lady Stoneheart as we know, continues to kill Freys.

In particular, was his first revival connected to Ned's sacrifice? (also done using Ned's sword).

Now this is interesting.  Ice is a spell-forged VS hundreds of years old and has been in House Stark for most of that time and is more than just a valuable relic.  Did Ned's blood on Ice, which was there by murder (Ned's execution was murder) trigger the magic?  Beric used his own blood to set his own sword on fire before fighting Sandor, again does this go back to Ice?  Thoros used wildfire to light his swords, so I don't think that came from him.

These blood ties matter in discussions of blood magic and sacrifice. It is not just the "King's Blood" thing. It is also the connection between characters that defines the level of intensity of the sacrifice.

Well said.
