Did Cersei murder Melara?

There is no doubt in my mind that Cersei murdered Melara.  Either is was to silence her forever about the prophecy, or, she was making sure that no one would have Jaime.  Melara wanted to marry Jaime and Cersei would never allow it.

 

This is especially true since Cersei couldn't have Rhaegar, though, at the time of the prophecy, Cersei always thought that she would be marrying Rhaegar after he became King.  She didn't understand, and how could she?

 

Melara made a poor choice of friends in Cersei.  Whether Cersei pushed her in the well or never bothered to get help once she fell into it, Cersei is absolutely responsible for Melara's death.

 

It would not bother her all of these years later if she had not been complicit in her death.  Cersei having a moment of guilt surprised me much more than her murdering her friend.
