A rhyme of Ice and Fire

Cosmic Maintenance Man

Recommended Posts

So, I read a few ASOIAF related poems a while back. Even though they were pretty bad, it's still a nice idea and I am certain that we here on the forums can do better. They can be short, funny, intelligent, etc... you decide.

I'm not a writer by any means but I'll give it a shot anyway:

Anger, malice and hatred combined

Never at rest, his soul confined

Revenge he seeks, before he is lost

For freedom comes with it, no matter the cost

Knowing his fate, he patiently abides

and weakness be damned! He lives or he dies

the day he faces, the mountain that rides

I know my Hound-poem was probably nothing to write home about...but I'm still curious as to what kind of poetry this board will be able to provide.

All right, put on your thinking caps and put your writing skills to the test :D

From the North, to Dorne, we've tried all the wine

A large appetite, has this partner of mine

I wish him luck, wherever he may be

For we're no longer together, my partner and me

Some battles were big, some battles were small

No matter the odds, we overcame them all

I wish him luck, wherever he may be

For we're no longer partners, my friend and me

We've tasted lots of women, from the North to the Rock

We pleased them all with out one mighty cock

Never again, together we'll be

For I'm the imps nose, and I'm lost at sea.

Please remind to never do this again. ;_;

O what’s the rhyme to Blackfyre?

Ken ye the rhyme to Blackfyre?

Unworthy Aegon gave his son

The sword his hopes to backfire.

The king across the water bides

Not long ere home again he rides

In glory till at Redgrass Field

A weirwood arrow fate decides.

Beyond the Wall white walkers walk,

Lord Brynden urges ravens talk,

In waters cold lurk dead things bold,

And wolves the sons of men do stalk.

The Children teach young Bran to see

The world from faces in a tree.

Three distant dragons reave and burn

Both friend and foe across the sea.

O who can rhyme Targaryen?

Can any rhyme Targaryen?

Swift Aegon brings the sword of kings

The unburnt queen to marry him.

What are you talking about, that was great!

Now let me try:

From Dorne to Volantis and then to Mereen

Long he traveled, in search for his Queen

She broke his heart, his worst nightmare

What should he do, but cry in despair

A flicker of hope, as bright as a beam

Ludicrous it may be, he devised the scheme

He should have known, he should have seen

No matter his foe, the dragon reigns supreme

My shameful display of "poetry". Poor Quentyn...

Great thread, hope to see more! :read:

Azor Ahai

For long did he try and make his sword

More time being something the world couldn't afford

The second one he made broke in a lion

But he knew that he had to keep tryin'

When he then knew how to succeed he was not enraged or annoyed

Plunging the third sword into his wife crying: "Paging Dr. Freud!"

And from the sunrise of Sunspear.

To the sunset of the Wall.

Our thirst for Ice, Fire and Beer

Shall be heard, until we Fall.

We, the ones who seek our Ways.

Through the Moutains and the Oceans,

Will Dance and Sing for all Days.

We Feast together in Devotion.

Below the Winds and the Storms

You'll hear the Clash of our Blades

And the whispers of our Dream so warm.

This is the Game we play, our Serenade.

You shall listen as we roar to the skies

Our Song of Ice and Fire...

We are White

We bring the Night

and now we are here to Fight

We live and thrive in the North

by the Evil men, the lands of the south are Borth

Those destructive men have no Worth

So Henceforth

Our story will Unfold

We are Old, Strong and Bold

The Wall will be Holed

Who will be able to Hold?

The true Might of the Night and Cold

Behold We are the fury of the winter, we are the nightstalkers

The Nightswatch is now nothing

but the bunch of Backstabbers and only Talkers

We are coming to claim what is ours

The true masters of Westeros, Yes We are the White Walkers

There once was a girl who dreamed of a prince

She got a Dog, she hasn't seen since.

He held up a knife, she got a kiss?

Why does if feel like something's amiss?

Ok, this is practice. I'm sure I can do better.

It's so bad I can't help but laugh.

While five kings wage war,

In the north the Others stir:

Winter is coming.

Very nice! It’s nice to finally see one of these that actually scans; I was beginning to lose hope until I read yours. I really appreciate your respect for the classical form there. Your verse is a well-built cake, the final season-mention the finest icing.
