It's funny you mention that, I believe GRRM actually wrote a bit for the 80s television series Beauty and the Beast. Maybe Sandor and Sansa is a little homage to that theme. Probably not. Ha! But it's definitely interesting that it came up in this thread. :]

I thought this song was quite touching and applicable to how Sandor helped Sansa in feeling less alone. Obviously he could have done much better in his verbal and physical interaction with her but he's fairly clueless about relating to girls/women. The big hero moments were great (winning the tournament, saving her from the mob) but the small moments were moving as well (backing her up when she lied to Joffrey, giving her advice, not assaulting her when the rest of the Kinsguard were, etc.). Sometimes just knowing you're not completely alone can make a big difference...

The Holding out for a Hero song (1st song on thread) was also used (brilliantly) in Shrek 3 when Shrek rode to save Princess Fiona. Shrek and Princess Fiona - another confused Beauty (then beautiful Beast) and the Beast (big, brave, hard-as-nails softy) tale.

I'm not a SanSan shipper, but Set Fire To The Rain by Adele always reminds me of the pairing for some reason.

Set Fire To The Rain reminds me of Dany. And like...ALL her pairings.
