Part of the lupinus genus. My favorite. When I was reading, I couldn't help but replace blue rose with bluebonnet in my head. It requires a season or two of harsh weather in order to truly thrive. My zeal for the Starks made it quite fitting. Plus there's some sort of a wolf/shapeshifter connection with lupines. I imagine that if Davos were to give Stannis a gift, it would be a boquet of bluebonnets. Just a way of saying, "Don't worry, my king.
