Sammyloo
This is my first topic, so please be gentle. This may seem like a silly question, but I did a quick search of the forums and google and I couldn't find any posts... Why did Darkstar try to actually kill Myrcella?
Julian Rayne
I'm not sure either. Maybe he wanted to jump start Arianne's war?
TheWizard
Here is my guessEither1. Because Tywin is her grandfather and Dorne hates Tywinor2. Darkstar is crazy and wanted to start some shit
Sammyloo
I just couldn't seem to make sense of why he turned to slice her.I do agree that it probably has something to do with tywin, maybe something about an eye for an eye child killing? bloodsteel bitterraven
I think it's revenge for something but I'm not sure what.
A wilding
The straightforward reason is that it was an alternative way of starting the Lannister - Dorne war he had signed up with Arianne to achieve. Killing Myrcella is at least as effective as crowning her, especially as Doran can't undo it as he might have been able to undo the crowning.P.S. This thread really belongs in "General (ASoIaF)", not in "Re-read Project".
SkaggCannibal
Yup, to start a war and slay a Lannister.
Jory Cassel
Darkstar realizes that simply crowning Myrcella does not suffice to provoke a war, he says so in the conversation with Arianne, and he also proposes - albeit subtly - that they should kill Myrcella, which Arianne refuses.
