Why No Smallfolk Revolts?

The Grey Wolf

Actually GRRM has stuck fairly closely to ACTUAL British history and there are very few peasant revolts in this history,''Sure there were outlaw gangs who may have been minor local rebels but of great peasant revolts we really ONLY have Wat Tyler in the reign of Richard II.

This revolt started only AFTER the great plague and I rather suspect that this is still in store for us in GoT

I forgot that Martin draws primarily on British history and not the broader period. Your right the only major one in England was Wat Tyler's though other minor ones like Jack Cade during the 1450s did occur. I wonder if we'll see a take on Wat Tyler's rebellion in the upcoming books now, what with winter coming, the Iron Bank calling in its loans, the war heating up again, greyscale spreading, and the loss of harvest in the Riverlands, North, and partly the Westerlands.
