One thing I never understood about Rob's crowning

it was the right decision in his book, joffrey was the legitimate king for all he knew, his bannermen wouldnt follow stannis, and he didnt have to declare for him or renly because they weren't the rightful king. His father, uncle, grandfather, and his aunt had died because they had got involved in the politics of the south, so in his mind it would be for the best since thats what his bannermen wanted was a KitN too. and declaring for stannis would only add a few thousand men to robbs cause who were on the other side of KL, so declaring himself KitN and allying himself with Renly was really the best option, short of declaring for renly
