Why do people think Jon is Azor Ahai?

There won't be the Great Other, but Jon and the forces of men will face the Night's King and his wight army.

Jon will fight the physical war, while Bran will fight the war inside Night's King mind. Bran will face Brandon, who is Night's King, and arguably the most powerful skinchanger who had ever lived before he gave his soul to the Female Other...

“Some say he was a Bolton,” Old Nan would always end. “Some say a Magnar out of Skagos, some say Umber, Flint, or Norrey. Some would have you think he was a Woodfoot, from them who ruled Bear Island before the ironmen came. He never was. He was a Stark, the brother of the man who brought him down.” She always pinched Bran on the nose then, he would never forget it. “He was a Stark of Winterfell, and who can say? Mayhaps his name was Brandon. Mayhaps he slept in this very bed in this very room.

Except the name of the NK was banned and removed from the memory while the Starks do not seem to have two successive generations without a Brandon.

Can I point out again that Stannis did not know about the real threat nor try to help until late? And even then, it was so he could still have a throne to take. Just because Dany is not fighting for the Wall now doesn't mean it will stay that way forever.

I think the difference is that she conquered humans; the Others--while not dead like some assume--are something more than run of the mill humans. Armies can be sent against them but that doesn't seem to go well, and her dragon fire won't work on the White Walkers (on the Wights, yes, but not the Walkers). Her method of "destruction" isn't going to work on them.

I would also like to add that Conquerors are not always the "best" military commanders, especially when the conquest involves people who are generally unfamiliar to you and of equal or greater military capabilities. It is true that some are. Recently. Alexander has taken a fair hit by historians, but he still remains fairly stout. William sort of "lucked" out. In most cases, historically, when someone begins a period of conquest, they are defeating groups of people who are less prepared for war, smaller, etc. For example, when the great Khan (Genghis) arrived into the Middle East, the Mongol conquest slowed dramatically. The region was much more populated with deeply rooted civilizations that were just as capable. There was a different defense system in the Middle East/Europe, and while Khan was no slouch, he did not have the resources or capabilities to topple the great civilizations of the west.

For example, the Aztecs conquered most of central Mexico, but when faced with a far superior military opponent, they were quickly destroyed. Once the Spanish began bombarding Tenochtitlan, the show was over.

I am not arguing that Dany's army would be ineffective, but there are several things to consider here.

1. Jon is of the North, Dany is not. It seems right now that those fighting the others will be Northmen.

2. Dany's army is used to the warm climate, Winterfell is not the bahamas right now. Dany is also not used to the climate, nor is she familiar with the land.

3. The North Remembers - that also includes Aery;s burning Starks. They may not welcome a Dragon queen to rule/lead them.
