Is Brain officially unable to return back south of the wall?

I don't care how strong his powers are, it would be boring storytelling if he just stayed in the cave for the rest of his life. And what would Jojen, Meera and Hodor do all that time?

I think he'll return to Winterfell at some point. But first he's going to the far North.

He might move around the tunnels for a while, god knows how far they stretch, but I think outside is a no-go zone.

Outside may be a no-go zone, but that's because of the wights lying in wait on the other side of the magic that keeps them out of the cave, rather than he can't go outside for no reason other than it's outside.

I read the typo in the title of this post and immediately pictured Brain from Pink and the Brain sitting in the weirwood tree cackling about trying to take over the world.

... But about Bran, I don't really think he's gonna leave. He's pretty useful as a POV able to see stuff that happened in the past.

Apparently, there is no Brain south of the Wall. Look the state of Westeros!

Bran is very dangerous for the plans of the Others. Therefore; they should find a way to dispel the ward and attack them.

It is true that the main inspiration for Bran (Bran the Blessed) never returned to home and only his head was restored but I think Bran will not stay there forever.

The solution might be the underground passages of Gendel and Gorne.

Hodor and the reeds will probably head south sooner or later.Bran is going to become like Brynden

Except that Bloodraven was PLENTY powerful without being a tree; why the hell do people think he is becoming a tree anytime soon when bran is already incredibly powerful and will only grow his abilities as he himself does.

Bran's destiny is in his forefathers domain; he can always return north later, but it seems almost just as dangerous to stay with winter really coming than to make the trek back south, and all he has to do is get an escort from the wall.

I think he'll be stuck there for the next 1 1/2 books first because he can't leave due to wights outside and then because BR will manipulate him into joining his GS powers with his own under the guise of helping Jon & the NW who are under attack. But really once Bran is somewhat merged with him BR is able to overpower him with his superior abilities and then uses his and Bran's combined powers to aid the Others because BR has come to the conclusion that humans are actually responsible for all the war, hate, despair, treachery in the world and that the Others don't only bring coldness but also justice, calm and peacefulness (or something lol).

Around the time we reach the middle of ADOS one of Bran's siblings will have realized what's happening, direwolves will be sent to locate Bran (or Summer) and someone on dragonback follows. They get Bran and Co out, possibly by burning the weirwood which will lead to BR's death.

Once Bran has joined the human alliance his powers, which will have improved even more during his time in the cave, will be important for the final battle. They win and Bran will become Lord of Winterfell but it's going to be implied that some day in the future he'll once again become one with a weirwood and live on like BR (without being creepy and evil).

This may or may not happen :cool4: but I really think there's a good chance that Bran will leave the cave on dragonback. And that BR is actually not there to help the human cause.

I completely agree. Bran's got a whole life to live before he becomes a tree.
