Ten things I love about you...

Jaime's Wench

Recommended Posts

Godric Borrell, lord of Sweetsister and head of house Borrell.

1. Has his own Island.

2. Has a nice break-your-ship-&-take-your-stuff operation going.

3. Sister's stew.

4. Only cares who is good for the realm.

5. Even though Stannis made him hang a dozen good friends (smugglers), he does not seek to harm Stannis by keeping Davos on the island.

6. Gave us another option for Jon's mother.

7. "If you lose, you were never here".

8. Keeping in mind that his dad allowed Ned to return north, this house has had more impact on the history of Westeros then most kings.

Sandor Clegane

1. Because he'll die for you but...

2. He'll never lie to you

3. He has more honor than all knights in KL put together

4. He's the ultimate badass but...

5. He didn't hurt little abused girl

6. He likes dogs

6. Jaime Lannister thinks he's not rape material

7. He defended Loras but...

8. Didn't make the killing blow to his brother's head although Gregor's head was exposed

9. He cried

10. He wanted to start a life in that village with Arya before he was turned away by townfolk

This! I loved that he cried too! Shows that the big man has a heart.

NO MORE JOFF HATERS

LEAVE JOFF ALONE

He was the best king they ever had :o

I'm doing another one.

QYBURN!

  1. He looks really nice, and everyone knows that people are exactly the same on the inside as on the outside

  2. Vivisections are less evil than dissections because in dissections the specimen is dead and doesn't get a chance to object - Qyburn gives people their say because he's a believer in equal rights

  3. Dissections are practiced on dead people, and dead people are breeding centers for germs - Qyburn has saved thousands of lives by dong his part to fight infectious diseases by experimenting on the living

  4. Tattoo parlors make sure to sterilize their needles, so torture isn't bad as long as all your utensils are clean and shiny - Qyburn follows modern safety precautions

  5. He shows loyalty to Cersei, who was nice to him, and doesn't judge her based on her utter lack of morality - Qyburn is fair and unbiased towards evil people, who are too often deprived of their hard-earned rights

  6. Living in the basement-dungeon and being rejected by his maester peers means Qyburn is a role model for nerdy people like me - besides, maesters are like the Spanish Inquisition, and need to learn to respect new ways of thinking that may or may not involve sharp objects and lurking around the dungeons in the dead of night; Qyburn is a free-thinking individual in a closeted world

  7. He helps dead people fulfill their true potential

  8. Qyburn does his experiments on people who are lords, and believes that it's the content of your innards, not the house you were born into, that makes you worthy of being operated on

  9. He becomes the Master of Whisperers, which is the head spy (like James Bond) - that means Qyburn is basically Sean Connery and thus incapable of wrongdoing

  10. He supposedly has knowledge of black magic, but since you get black when you mix all the colors except white, that means that Qyburn likes rainbows and is just expressing his Renly Pride

Qyburn is the smartest man in the Seven Kingdoms, and pursues his science with prudence and morality. If only there were more like him.

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day? Let me count the ways...

Catelyn Stark, Proper Lady, glowing angel sent from the heavens, BAMF.

1) Managed to outsmart Tyrion, one of the cleverest people in the series. Genius.

2) Had auburn hair, and was beautiful. Shallow, I know.

3) Brought this generation of Starks into the world.

4) Survived bringing this generation of Starks into the world.

5) Was a shining beacon of hope for female solidarity in a very bitchy world. Cat/Brienne

6) Always striving for a peaceful resolution while alive. Kingsmoot suggestion, urging Robb to bend the knee etc...

7) Literal spectre of Vengefulness when undead. You really get the whole package with this character.

8) Nobody fucks with Mama Stark. Children mean every thing

9) Would actually have made a good female ruler with power (I'm looking at you, Cersei and Dany)

10) Kills Freys

Ugh, does it have to be capped at 10?

Why did they get rid of the like button?!?

Beets, that's amazing... but you forgot the main one: He healed Jaime and therefore saved him from dying of major gangrene!!!!!

No no no. You see, that actually endangered the lives of thousands of smallfolk by allowing the infectious bacteria in his hand to continue to live, thereby possibly causing a minor plague. Who knows how many people have died because of this mistake? All of Qyburn's other actions from that point onward are atonement for his one great sin. Qyburn is a tragic hero.

Finally, people who understand the pain of the true heroes of ASoIaF. I hope Qyburn gets a POV, though I fear we shall never possibly be able to comprehend his genius.

Thanks ;)

Ramsay 'Bastard' Bolton/Snow

1) He doesn't like people swearing so legitimises himself to stop them saying the word 'Bastard' - always thinking about the children.

2) He's good at making friends - a la Reek.

3) He remembers his friends and mourns them after they die - a la Reek.

4) He believes in animal right by treating them the same way he treats humans.

5) Ignores people's unpleasantries in favour of friendship - a la Reek.

6) Believes in the importance of being able to rise above your birth - a hero for the working man.

7) Amasses an army to protect his father's lands when he goes to war.

8) Appears to be literate and very capable of letter writing - link to point 6) where he is bettering his baseborn nature.

9) Very interested in uncovering lies and treasons such as the Mance cover-up.

10) Immortalises all of his past lovers so as to never forget their love.

Goldenhand the Just

1. Has a variety of nicknames: Goldenhand the Just, Kingslayer, Handless, probably sisterfucker if he ever has to do his own walk of shame, someone calls him oathbreaker at that point

2. Looks "half a corpse, half a god," while in the throes of a massive feverish infection which might have killed him if it had gone on for another day or two

3. "This is what a king should like," according to Jon Snow. Well, he should know, shouldn't he?

4. His relationship with Brienne is lovely and a great example of two people actually getting to know each other and fall in love based on their actions and inner selves, as opposed to the many more negative versions of "love" we see.

5. He is kind to Pia, despite her being probably literally the lowest of the low in terms of her status in Westeros society.

6. He tries to fulfill his vows to Lady Catelyn, even though in my opinion, he has little real obligation to.

7. He agrees to take Hoster as a hostage instead of Bethany, probably one of the most gratuitously nice things we see anyone do in the series, again despite having absolutely no reason/obligation to do so.

8. He is the greatest natural swordsman Barristan has ever seen (and Barristan's jealousy of him BURSTS from the pages in ADWD, so if Barristan is admitting that, think how good he must be).

9. He saved 500000 people from dying of grotesque wildfire burns. And no one has ever said thank you!

10. He loves the crap out of Tyrion.

Jon Snow

1. Very brave and honorable

2. Good looking (no homo)

3. Got a Valyrian Blade

4. Great example of a perfect Stark

5. Lord Commander at age 16/17

6. Deals with angst at many times but endures

7. Is the secret heir

8. Too much swag ("Ed fetch me a block")

9. The Prince That Was Promised/The Last Hero/Azhor Azhai

10. Big time player (Ygerrite down, and Melissandre and Val up)

I know.

GRRM tries so hard to vilify these Gods in human form, but we few - but intelligent few - see through this ploy and detect and disarm these scathing attacks and see the wonderful Ramsay, Joffrey and Qyburn as the truly are.

This post. So much Win.

He is the nicest man in Westeros. Seriously, he is always so mild mannered and courteous. Never a harsh word or an evil look. His politeness is a breath of fresh air in the bickering, squabbling world of ASOIAF.

^ I got Gregor..

1. Very strong and fierce. One of the finest fighters ever

2. Sticks up for himself and doesn't back down. Anyone that steals something from him will get their face thrown in fire

3. Loyal to his Queen. Shows the world what true OATH means

4. Does whatever his liege lord says whether that includes murdering children or not. A truly just man that understands his lord is the true master

5. Destroyed Queen Elia and her children. In essence, he destroyed the end of the Targ family tree. A hero to all

6. Friends with a great court. These guys are really close, kinda like their own club, just go out rapin and murdering. Very tight community and any lonely person reading this series will just see that and wanna go out with friends

7. Almost kill Loras Tyrell because Loras cheated. screw cheaters! sends a good message to kids at home

8. Reborn as a zombie. And is still loyal to his queen. Wow! What a guy!

9. Ravaged the Riverlands for being traiters. Teaches the virtues of being honest and true

10. Made his family other than Sandor "disapear". A true Machiavellian that is great representation of philosophy

Overall, he is just such a honorable guy. He follows all orders, teaches all traiters duties, and is a good role model for kids when it comes to principles

I am getting a little worried now. You campaigners of Truth have completely forgotten the biggest hero of them all. Poor Gregor :crying:

Fine, Gregor Clegane.

1) Very concerned about people cheating with underhanded tactics and thus believes in taking it upon himself to purge all this cheating from knightly tournaments - like the Hand's tournament.

2) In his search for knightly justice, he also believes that stealing is a heinous crime and tries to teach little Sandor this lesson with tough love.

3) Furthering his knightly quests he was forced to banish the evil demon baby Aegon who was basically Lucifer revived through a strict method only known by godly men.

4) Interested in fairness and justice by trying to get Catelyn to return the kidnapped Imp.

5) He has been imbued with godly powers - able to detect evil (like Aegon) and choose from many captives who are the most evil and deserve death at Harrenhal.

6) He is not fazed by reputation and makes friends with all - as shown by his merry band.

7) Hates traitors and takes it open himself to purge them in Harrenhal (the recapture).

8) In his godly defence of Joffrey he is killed by the nefarious means used by Oberyn, but his holy will is still able to imbue justice by defeating Oberyn.

9) Working with Qyburn, he shows all the lazy people who have every died that being dead is no obstacle to godly service.

10) Enjoys relationships with all women, no matter rank and birth from the lowliest commoner to the highest princess.

EDIT: Damn, you got there first Commander

Another plus for Gregor: Much like the Blackfish, he is not willing to be constrained by societal expectations with regards to marriage. Poor guy was married three times, passed around Westeros like a piece of meat! But honourable Gregor would not stand for it, so he got a Medieval divorce. Really, can we blame him? Should we not applaud his willingness to go out on a limb, and try to find true love?
