  1. well , see? there is new material if you look hard enough! though, I'm still more interested to know why it's ok for a Targaryen heir apparent to marry a Dondarian but not a Blackwood messing with us , are ya? !
  2. what a major douche . what ... ? is there a reward reserved for him , if he'd be the first to come up with theories?!
  3. Feast /Dance could easily be stretched out up to two years , with some storylines (such as Dany's) starting later in the timeline and some stuck in slow paced travels (such as Stannis's) or slow paced actions (It's utterly stupid that Cersei messes up a new thing every week . that could be reduced to messing up once a month)
  4. who was Daemon's ally in Green Council?
  5. well, add that to a billion assumptions about why George is struggling! it's a long shot , but I hope George first finishes his books (all the way to Dream and FnB3) and then publishes a book about why it took so long for him to write*. god knows we almost have as much theories about that as we have about book events. * I just realized that if George does finish the series ,it might be more than 30 years since he started! the only book I can think of that has taken 3 decades to be written is Ferdowsi's Shahnameh which is a Persian poetry book that is known as the book that revived Persian language in a time where Persians had to speak Arabic for generations!
  6. you're right, it is the craziest theory thus far though , I can see how you get to that , let us agree that hopefully George won't write that!
  7. yeah... they weren't that smart to see that
  8. no one saw him as dangerous though. just a lonely harmless useful eunich.
  9. a couple of months ago , I would have taken that as a sign of getting a little bit closer to either Winds ,FnB2 or DnE ... but I am in a highly pessimistic mood and my best guess is that he is inventing fates for some side characters; characters like half Tyroshi daughter of Rogar's exiled brother .( which I do appreciate , but not as much as main books)
  10. I usually don't like big timing gaps in books, series , etc. 5 yr older characters are basically new people that you need to get to know all over again. I still think with Westeros's huge size and all the travelling characters have , George could have weeks and months between chapters instead of days . it would have been better that way for Stannis who traveled half the Westeros in a non-desirable weather(we've got a glimpse of it in Asha's last Dance chapter where he was stuck in one place for weeks) . but man! Starks needed that age up! another , merit of 5 yr gap would have been the reduced Ironborn chapters.. I found 4-5 chapters leading to the kingsmoot from Aeron , Asha and Victarion POVs pretty much unnecessary and dull; all that could be in 1 chapter and the three characters' personal thoughts about the kingsmoot could be included in later chapters.
  11. I suppose so. Although, Alyssane matched Vissera with Theomore Manderly , suggested Rhaena to remarry and her other choice for Daella was the womanizer Tymond Lannister ; which suggests she wasn't all that bright.
  12. well , Boremund wanted Rhaenys to be queen because she was his niece.. likewise, Rogar wanted to crown Aerea for his own agenda, that doesn't make him an exception . and I excluded Stannis and Renly just admit it my friend, Baratheons went full Durrandan after Orys
  13. re-reading FnB is insightful I've come to conclusion that Robert and every historical Baratheon , save for Orys himself, are basically variants of Argilic the Arrogant! they all share a passion for hunting , drinking and whoring ; they all want to die with a weapon in hand and a curse in mouth and none of them think much of women's capabilities (worse than ,say, Starks or Targaryens) .
  14. well, with Quentyn scheme , Doran didn't need Myrcella plan to have his war and revenge; so, why would Oberyn? anyway , yeah, they probably came up with that separately . although , my guess is Oberyn would have known he couldn't eventually put Myrcella on the throne and might have planned to declare Dorne's independence after luring Lannisters into his trap and taking his revenge. Or , he planned to join Daenerys afterwards.
  15. I don't don't know what to think of that bit . according to Doran , he and Oberyn had the same plans . wasn't Quentyn sent to Dany before Oberyn's departure?
  16. they were already famous enough without it random thought: isn't it amusing that only 3 of the Targaryen kings - Aenys , Daeron I and Aerys II - were actually raised expecting to one day wear the crown and none of those three turned out to be able? ( Aegon IV and Daeron II succeeded their fathers too but both were already all grown up when Viserys became king.)
  17. doesn't anyone think it odd that there wasn't anything close to gender equality in Valyria? I mean men and women both rode dragons ... dragons! ... there's no difference between men and women when they fly and can burn down anyone and anything .. right? ... yet , not only there was male primogeniture (which could be somewhat understandable) , there is also polygamy
  18. unfortunately, I personally only care about the first 4 ,while George seems to be preoccupied with the other 20 ... no wonder he said "I am sorry for you"
  19. all the talk in FnB about how it took Aegon III a LONG time to consumate his marriage after his wife's flowering becomes hilarious ,when you realize Daenaera must have been 14-15 when she got pregnant with Daeron I .
  20. it's probably an unpopular opinion. but part of me thinks that if main series aren't gonna be published , it's better that that DnE and F&B stay unfinished as well . I do want to read them but I know they just make me want Winds and Dream more and that's frustrating
  21. didn't Aegon I only worshiped the Seven after his conquest? Knighthood wasn't much of a concept for him
  22. I just don't understand how he keeps saying he intends to tell his story if he is not remotely close to finishing Winds after all these years
  23. that is actually popular ! OR you'll get posters calculating the force required to pull down a tower using ropes and horses... then there will be loads of disagreements among experts on diameter of the ropes , number of horses , etc, etc.
