Stan the Man Baratheon
We all know how much LF craves for power. He is out of touch with tyrells the current holders of IT. He won't play it with Aegon and we already know he has deserted Lannisters. This theory depends on Stannis winning the Battle of WF. Even if GNC is played out, northern lords won't kill Stannis, they might not support him as much as Stannis would've wanted but they won't let him go empty-handed, because i believe northern lords are honourable sans a few. They will give him a 1/4 portion of northern host, to march south. We know of Patchface's Prophecy that “We will march into the sea and out again. Under the waves we will ride seahorses, and mermaids will blow seashells to announce our coming, oh, oh, oh."Seahorses: Aurane Waters with his newly build fleet of Drommonds.Mermaids: Manderly's Fleet. Seashells: Asha's Fleet? Now seeing this LF might be interested in marrying SR to Shireen, as then he would become the Guardian of the Future King, given Stannis wins the throne. For Stannis to win the throne he will need a much bigger army than that. LF would like to be included in the play for IT and will offer Vale's Army given Shireen marries SR. Hence, LF crave for power would dry up, because that move will make the one of the most powerful lords of Westeros.Would like to hear your opinions on this? This is still a draft theory and pure speculation.

Adara
Problem is: Littlefinger is (obviously) trying to poison Sweetrobin. So Stannis better hurry up to take Shireen to the Vale.

CassBlackfyre
Sansa would not allow(poisoning) to happen. not if shes ignorant to it, though, she didn't even consider that LF was trying to poison SR when he insisted the maester give him some sweetsleep (was it?) in his milk to help with his fits
The Drunkard
I think Littlefinger would quickly come down with a case of the dead should he ever try to serve Stannis.
Darkbringer
Nah Rickin will be promised to Shireen, if both survive. Funny actually. Shireen dreams if being eaten, and Rickon is on an island full of cannibals. Coincidence?
joachim
I think Sansa is going to get wise to the poisoning. And when she realizes that Littlefinger has bought everyone around him, she'll enlist the aid of Mya Stone in smuggling Robert to Runestone. Fat Mac
I think Littlefinger would quickly come down with a case of the dead should he ever try to serve Stannis. This. It's why LF didn't want (secretly wanted) Ned to support Stannis. Stannis knows LF is a scheming liar and would quickly dispose of him. Therefore I'm sure LF doesn't ever think Stannis will come in to his plans, nor would Stannis accept an offer from him.
joluoto
Stannis and LF doesn't particularly like each other.
MotherMerciless
I seriously doubt Stannis would ever wed his beloved daughter to anyone remotely associated to a guy that made his fortune on managing brothels.
( Bloodraven )
If Stan knows that LF is behind Sweetrobin, then not a chance. The "seashells" could pertain to Sansa as well -- the boat that took her to the Vale has a figurehead of a merman blowing on a great seashell horn. Queen Alienor
Stannis and LF are never going to work together. Now, if Sansa disposes LF, I see a chance for this match, especially when she hears that Jon supported (supports?) Stannis. Otherwise, nope, don't see it. Blutraven
If Stannis and LF ever meet, LF's getting burned alive. About the seashells from the Patchface prophecy, the sigil of House Westerling is six seashells.
Dark Flame
He (Henry VII) also concluded the Treaty of Perpetual Peace with Scotland (the first treaty between England and Scotland for almost two centuries), which betrothed his daughter Margaret to King James IV of Scotland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_VII_of_England Replace Henry VII with Stannis, Margaret with Shireen, and James with Rickon

As for Littlefinger, extremely unlikely to me, their storylines are going north and south in terms of content, surely there will be consequences that affect both from their actions, but Stannis Baratheon and Petyr Baelish forming an alliance ? We'll first see Tyrion bringing his father back with blood magic.
Northernmonkey
If Stannis and LF ever meet, LF's getting burned alive. Agreed. That's why Stannis would be such a good king - because he'd spend 5 minutes listening to LF and Varys's bullshit before having them both beheaded.
