LordQorgyle
What do you think that would have happened if Jaime crowned Aegon?Would Tywin be his hand? With Doran or Elia as regents?Could the Westerland and Dornish forces maybe with the Tyrells help beat Robert's army? Equilibrium
Tywin would assume all the power, Doran wouldn't be allowed anywhere near the seat of power, and yes I think they would be able to hold KL, Tyrells would conquer SE and exhausted Stark/Baratheon/Arryn/Tully forces would be pushed back opening possibility for lenghty war of atrition or peace compromise leaving coaliton lords in their seat but far removed from state power. Bryanfury
Who says Jaime can get to Aegon in time to stop Gregor opening his head against a wall?
Rhaenys_Targaryen
Tywin would have assumed regency, had Aegon lived long enough and had Tywin not entered the city with the plan to sack it. Dorne and the Westerlands would have been at peace, and the Reach would most likely have joined forces with them (as they had been loyalists upon now). Doran could have tried to force a place on the small council, but that, most likely, would have been it for Dorne.
LordQorgyle
Yeah i think Tywin would be the hand, but Doran and Mace would be in a power place since Tywin alone couldn't beat alll the other four kingdoms..And probably they would marry Aegon with Margaery or Arianne or even Dany and Viserys with Cersei
LordQorgyle
Who says Jaime can get to Aegon in time to stop Gregor opening his head against a wall? Roland Crakehall asked Jaime if they should crown Aegon or open the city gates and Jaime said that they could do what they want, after that Gregor killed Aegon
Howlin' Howland
Tywin would have seen it as a chance to sieze power. Robert would have wanted to continue the war. Eddard would have felt that the war was over with Arys and Rhaegar dead. We don't know enough about Jon Arryn to know how he would feel. My guess is that the war would have ended with a deal, and either Tywin or Jon Arryn would have been hand, the other would have been given land and othe presigious titles. Aegon would have been king in name going forward. Robert would have been pissed and felt cheated but in the end Ned and Jon would have calmed him down, plus with Robert's injury there's not much he could have done about it. John Doe
I don't even think the Starks, Baratheons and Arryns would continue the War against the Westerlands, Reach and Dorne after being pardoned (and Tywin would sure as hell pardon them). LordQorgyle
Robert could have have wanted to continue but alone he would be destroyed
WilliamWesterosiWallace
No need to pardon the rebels - they have the King now. Yes, the best course of action would've been crowning Aegon and reigning through him while he's a kid. Then, when he's grown, you tell him that his grandfather wanted to explode KL and his father was a kidnapper and a rapist, and everything is Ok. BTW: Not saying that Rhaegar is a kidnapper and a rapist, just saying what, IMO, would be more acceptable in Aegon's ears(or the Pisswater Prince's ears, if Varys had already did his magic)

Bryanfury
Roland Crakehall and one of the Westerlings were the first to enter in the Red Keep, Gregor only entered after Gregor didn't walk through the front door to listen to what Jaime had to say. He scaled the walls of the Red Keep during the sack and went straight for Aegon with Amory Lorch, and Jamie arbitrarily deciding to crown Aegon wouldn't magically slow Gregor's progress or make him defy his orders to kill Aegon.
