Ormond
Well, here's news about a movie star so old even I don't remember her. Any fans of old movies out there who've seen her films? http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2014/12/30/luise-rainer-dies/21038009/
Fez
Oh wow, had no idea she had still be alive. That's pretty incredible. RIP. I'm a big fan of William Powell, so I've seen all of his movies that she's the female lead in quite a few times: Escapade, The Great Ziegfeld, and The Emperor's Candlesticks. Tears of Lys
Well, here's news about a movie star so old even I don't remember her. Any fans of old movies out there who've seen her films? http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2014/12/30/luise-rainer-dies/21038009/ I've seen "The Good Earth" and "The Great Ziegfeld," the two films she won the Best Actress Oscars for. Here's a pic for those few who may be interested in what she looked like... http://www.frontiersmedia.com/Pics/Blog%20Images%203/Luise%20Rainer3.jpg It's funny how so few people are aware of the great film stars of the past - those who were so famous and so talented in their time. Shows you how fleeting fame is. On that same note, Donna Douglas, who played Elly Mae Clampett on the Beverly Hillbillies, died today and so did the late, great Mario Cuomo. I sincerely hope folks remember Cuomo at least.
