morticia
I have been recommended to read the Obernewtyn Chronicles and looking for further opinions/reviews on the series. Can anyone that has read the books give me more insight?
voodooqueen126
They are great. I have loved them since I was 13. Can't wait for the final book to get out, she's nearly as bad as GRRM. Possibly worse as the first book came out in 1887. No release date on Red Queen.

voodooqueen126
Isobelle Carmody started the first book when she was working on her bachelor's degree. I have seen her once in the flesh I think, and she's quite thin, also given how huge animal rights are in the Obernewtyn Chronicles, I would strongly suspect that she's a vegetarian. So the chances are she is going to live a very long life, so I wouldn't be worried about her not living to publish the last book.I loved her "Green Monkey Dreams" as a teenager. Carmody's writing style is masterful, on a technical level I would consider her a better writer than GRRM, but she's much more didactic than he is: her characters are vegetarian pacifists, and are not afraid to preach it.
