Alternate History: Tywin Marries Rhaella Targaryen

It recently dawned on me that had Rhaella been married off to Tywin, and perhaps Aerys to Joanna (given that they were all roughly of a similar age) then Westerosi history would have gone a whole lot smoother! (to say the least) And even if Aerys didn't marry Joanna Lannister, he may have been married off to a Hightower, a Tyrell, or an Arryn. With Rhaelle (Egg's only daughter) married off to a Baratheon, and Steffon having grown up with Tywin and Aerys II, this would have thwarted the Maester's plan. (If you believe in the maester conspiracy that is!) Makes you wonder if the measters may have even been complicit in Steffon's early death? Tywin would have likely seen a grandson on the Iron Throne in this equation as well! Him and Rhaella may have had multiple sons and daughters. And one of them could have married Aerys' son, and thus the purity of the bloodline of Targs would have continued but with a quarter of Lannister DNA.

Then, there would be nothing for GRRM to write about.

Or it would happen only 3 or 4 generations later. And we would not care of that happened in Tywin's time.

Actually, then House Lannister would have Targ blood through Rhaella and hence a much better claim to the Iron Throne than the boy formally known as Joffrey Baratheon.
