Man, this was a pain in the neck. While Sean Bean is definitely a board favorite, I recently saw Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the bandmate of the dead guy in P.S. I Love You and found the warmth in performance that I'd love to see in Ned. That and he'll bring in the women, where Sean will bring in us fanboys. Roy has the face I'm looking for in Ned...and the rest....well, despite Ned being the one character where an A list actor might actually be considered, this was one vote where I tended to group them at the bottom, under the unknowns.

I think I'll do a few of the shorter lists next. Long lists take a long time to crunch.

Edit: Holy frijoles, JDM is also playing the Comedian in Watchmen!

Quite a few of the others would just fit better in other roles. That Kim Rossi Stuart looks more like Renly, Rob Brydon seems like a Dolorous Edd rather than a Ned, and Lambert Wilson looks like he'd be right at home with a swarm of leeches all over him. I think a visit to the casting threads is in order.

i would really like to see gary oldman playing ned, but he would certainly be more expensive than producers could afford...

this, i think. JDM is my first choice, of course; but the others round it out nicely. i've purefoy in mind for another role though.
