Blah
Is she Starbuck or is she Baltar's Cylon bit of stuff??? I've only seen the two-part opening mini-series She's Baltar's Cylon.
Sgt Detritus
Three actors would deserve a part Samuel L Jackson Willem Defoe Brad Dourif As far I can remeber the only black character in the series is the exiled prince from the Summer Isles so I imagine that would be Jackson. As for Defoe and Dourif they've both made a career out of playing absolute psychos and there are plenty of them about....
Hannibal
Willedm Defoe appering as Aerys in the Jamies or other characters flashbacks and other well Vargo Houth or Euron Crowseye but i think John Malkovich would be the best Euron!
Regina
Defoe would be the perfect Aerys! He'd make the Mad King creepy beyond words! From ltm's post waaaay back: I think a slightly younger Alan Rickman would be a great Tywin Lannister. He could deliver a line like "wherever whores go" and really make everyone want to kill him. OMG, I would pay to see the movie just for that moment! Granted, Rickman doesn't look anything like the way I picture Tywin...but he does have the right voice and manner. Maybe he could do Tywin's voice in an animated version. Disclaimer: I love Alan Rickman, and would pay to hear him read from a phone directory...so take my opinion with a grain of salt, lol! Guest rhaenys
Ever since I saw one artist's rendition of Jaime Lannister, I have always thought of Josh Holloway! That's so funny that so many other people have had the same thought. Also, I agree that John Malkovich should be in the movie as somebody, but I'm not wedded to any particular character. Roose Bolton, maybe? Somebody quietly creepy. I think someone else would be better as Euron, though. I realize it's uninspired to cast Johnny Depp as a pirate, but there you have it. Can't say I agree with anyone's Cersei choice though, or that she's supposed to look like a porn star. Somebody like a younger Sharon Stone would be good (I mean, isn't Cersei Sharon Stone in Casino, really?), but I can't think of anyone who fits that description. Orlando Bloom as Loras is inspired (and funny - Bloom? Knight of Flowers?) I know this totally sucks, and I would never, never, never cast her in a movie, but the famous person that looks remotely like the way I picture Dany is...Paris Hilton. It's weird, but there it is. Stereo_Phile
Katharine Hepburn circa 1965 as Cersei. Mainly because I hate Katharine Hepburn and she would make Cersei all the more hate-able : P As far as casting from a realistic standpoint, I think ASoIaF would probably work better as a tv series or miniseries. I just feel like something might be lost on the big screen, as it usually is. Unless you have fans that detail every nit and pick like Peter Jackson did for the LOTR movies. Yeah, they weren't completely accurate, but they were a hell of a lot more entertaining than the books to me : ) But back to my point, I think you would just need to cast a lot of unknowns in these roles. I'd rather look at someone on the screen and say to myself, "that's Eddard Stark" instead of saying, "That's Russell Crowe playing Eddard Stark!" I think you could stand to have some big names in it, of course, because that's kind of needed to attract viewers... but you don't need big names to make a good production. I'm planning on being a composer for film scores someday, so I'm hoping in about 20-30 years they'll want to make these books into movies and I'll get to score em! But oh well, a man can dream : ) A few of my compositions for the roleplaying game I'm working on are at the game's website: http://ultima.cfkasper.de/ In the media section under "chlorthos". I've actually done one or two song ideas that I would like to use with winterfell, though I'm without a good synth at the moment to make em sound good. I have a penchant for going off topic as well, it seems. Sorry ; ) ~Stereo_Phile

As far as casting from a realistic standpoint, I think ASoIaF would probably work better as a tv series or miniseries. Definitely agree... I think it would almost have to be an HBO limited series. Each book could be a season. Wouldn't be that different in scale from, say, "Rome", right? Man, I should change careers and become a producer and get this to happen! WightMeWorry
I'm partial to relative unknowns... Ayelet Zorer{Zurer} as Ellaria Sand, or Lyanna, if you must have Belluci as the Red Viper's esteemed paramour. She was Avner's (Eric Bana) wife in Munich... probably the hottest woman I've ever seen on film. And she can act too. One more pic, for those Bana-as-Ned fans out there. [Note to the artists lurking: she's a great reference for drawing a beauty with a long face!] Ludivine Sagnier and Eva Green should be body doubles for whoever plays Cersei and Lady Merryweather. I'd post photos but they would almost certainly not be work safe. Heck, you could film those two in a scene and fund the whole ASOIAF epic on the proceeds

Jagged
I have an entire Spread sheet with all the major and minor characters and actors for about 1/4 of them. It's something a friend of mine came up with a few months back. I can't figure out how to get it on the board so I just kinda did nothing about it.
