Andhaira
The rpg news sounds great. So basically, you play as a skin changer in the Night's Watch, and a Red Priest. Some things: -They chose a DOG to be the warging animal? That sucks. I don't like dogs. How about something like a shadowcat instead? -There should have been a noble player character, or at least a knight. Better yet, a member of the kings guard. -I hope you can cast spells as the Red Priest. Nothing too facny, but at least the stuff Thoros and Melisandre were able to do. -I'm a bit sad there wont be any open world exploration, but I can understand why they didn't go that route. They are a small studio so they could probably only choose/afford to focus on a story driven game, which probably takes less resources than an open world game. Werthead
This looks much stronger than the RTS. Well, the graphics look rather generic (that could easily also be a shot from The Witcher 2 or Dragon Age), but at least the quality is high and the story sounds interesting, paying homage to some of the ideas and concepts from the books without slavishly following them. They also note their inspirations as being Planescape Torment, BG and The Witcher, which is certainly talking the talk.

Even if he's a red priest, he's the eldest son of a lord, so lord himself after his father's death. And who knows... maybe was he a knight before his exile.- hum... maybe ^^- Speaking for myself,I don't like open world games where the heroes wait that the great vilain/great comet/evil devil is about to destroy the world in a very close time to... explore the world, hunt rare monsters, play casino or rear chocobos...This looks much stronger than the RTS. gumby
Reading the factornews article reminded me of the first LOTR game for the Xbox. It was boring, repetitive and an all around waste of money. Obviously it's too early to tell but if it's completely linear there will be zero replay value for this game, and that is what scares me.
FilliamHMuffman
The graphics look comparable to Dragon's Age, but are definitely a notch or two below The Witcher 2. Of course, The Witcher 2 has the advantage of being PC exclusive. But the graphics are serviceable, and the writing and gameplay are what's important. The details given in the preview are intriguing enough.I do find it a bit odd that if there was a second brother of the Night's Watch at Castle Black with skinchanging abilities, why was the subject never brought up in any of the Jon chapters in the books. It sounds like something that could feel shoehorned in depending on how it's handled. I mean, I can understand the desire to play as such a character, but I always thought Ghost's presence at Castle Black was something unique. The Night Watch has a lot of dogs. Maybe for other peoples, Mors's dog is just a loyal dog.
twincast
If Alester also interacts actively in the political scheming instead of only reacting passively to it, that would come dangerously close to an utter gamergasm for me, but I'm looking forward to his story either way. Some minor magic, maybe a flaming touch, would be cool, but during the first book even that would seem kind of over the top, methinks.Mors on the other hand sounds both less interesting and harder to implement convincingly as something that hasn't been worth mentioning in the books.
