Drogon would have roasted her in the pit if she hadn't ducked from the fire, though.

Dragons get angry when you whip them and Drogon ended up going down rather than eating her.

If Drogon intended to harm Dany he would have eaten her when he closed his teethe right in front of her face.

An observation of Drogon's behaviour in the pit seems more like him being angry that Dany is afraid of him, he roared only at the moments she stumbled and when she started thinking she could die at that moment.

Also if Drogon intended to harm Dany he wouldn't have allowed her to ride him and he would have eaten her at the Dothraki sea when he was hunting.
