Size of the Lannister army at the end of ADWD

IIRC Tywinn's army of some 15k troops were used to take Dragonstone. I presume they are still there. Jaime had a fairly small fore of what was it, 4k? to finally take Riverrun, but Kevan reports this force is melting away in the Riverlands. There's also the 500 men Jaime sent to escort Robb's wife Jeyne Westerling back to the westerlands.

2,000 of them were used to take Dragonstone - and 1,000 of them fell. Jaime had a fairly small force of barely more than 1,000 to take Riverrun, the rest were Freys and Riverlords. And this force was used to escort Jeyne and Edmure to Casterly Rock as well as garrison Riverrun.

Now add Kevan's 500 and the forces of the Mountain and you have ~3,000 men remaining. The rest was disbanded.

Do you know how it is composed? How many of them are actual wargalleys instead of longships?

All of them. martin said that every lord has one or two, and the lords paramount have more. In war time, like Stannis raised the ships of his bannermen to add to the portion of the royal navy that went with him, the lords will provide ships to increas that number. I think ~50 war galleys is a solid number. Jason Mallister had 2 war galleys and 6 longships, so I'd say that the number of small longships for patrol and stuff like that is far greater, however is only used for that - patrol. The Reach raised 200 war galleys, and another 1,000 civilian ships, but still had at least 50 longships to defend the Shield Islands. I assume that every lord has a few as well, but they are not going to stop anything more then a small raid, and definatly not a war fleet (although Victarion did take losses there - 6 ships of the Iron Fleet against an enemy fleet half the size, and ships a third of the size of his).

Jaime had 1,000 men, but there was also Daven's army, the remains of his father's host. I don't think we ever learned the size of this army, but it's probably no more than 3,000.

GRRM said 20-30 ships in the Lannister Fleet in that SSM. Not 50.

Less than 1,000, closer to 500 if I remember correctly. And half of that Stormlords, no Lannister bannermen => 250-400 Westermen.

Daven's host is about half the size of the Frey host in front of Riverrun. No way the Freys got more than 2,000 men there, max, while assisting the Boltons in the North, sieging Seaguard, defending the Twins and hunting the BWB at the same time - which put Daven's host at ~1,000 men or less.

He says that in war time they can get some from thier bannermen. The Lannisters have 20-30. Add the ships of thier bannermen and it's about 50, if every lord on the coast has 1-2 war galleys.
