larastone
To those who don't know Munchausen syndrome by proxy is essentially when a caregiver "fabricates, exaggerates, or induces mental or physical health problems in those who are in their care" to get attention upon themselves. So others could see how "doting" they are towards their child etc etc

sweetsunray
It's possible. If she fed him some stuff to deliberately make him sick - for sure. Is there evidence for that? But isn't it more to simply get attention to themselves, rather than have the 'doting' image? There are several characters in the books with some disorder. Shitmouth I think suffers from Tourette's. Alysanne Donnelly
Unless Lysa used a poison that permanently damaged young Lord Robert's body, I don't think so. He continues to have tremors and seizures after her death.
Bobby b's bobby
He seem epileptic I don't think she causes his issues or exaggerates them. The smothering really didn't help turn him into a functional person but does have a better excuse than most with a forced abortion.
sweetsunray
the continuous breastfeeding and coddling and smothering might have been making robin more sick No, breastfeeding wouldn't make a child sick. Au contraire. It happens rarely, but even in our society some mothers keep breastfeeding their children well until they're 8-9. Some find that werid or disgusting or argue that is emotionally unhealthy, but so far I've seen on docus those kids seem to be perfectly fine. And why would hugging your child make him sick? What I do see possible evidence of is that she's making him believe every little ailment is a near disaster. There's also his "shaking disease". Is Sweetrobin epyleptic? Lady Sharya
Unless Lysa used a poison that permanently damaged young Lord Robert's body, I don't think so. He continues to have tremors and seizures after her death. ^This^ I think he really has epilepsy, not a fake condition that would clear up unless he was given something that caused permanent damage. Lord Wraith
On the topic of poisoning sweetrobin. A very interesting take on it. To the OP I can totally see Lysa as having the syndrome you said.
Richard Writhen
I would say so. She kept him so sheltered and thus needy that it was almost a sickness...
Associate Maester
Given his symptoms did not abate with Lysa's death. No. It's very clear he's always been a sickly child.

BRANDON GREYSTARK
Lysa wasn't trying to kill or make Robert sick nor did she garnish any sympathy not from her banner men nor her own sister .
ShadowCat Rivers
I don't think so. If anything, Lysa keeps repeating how strong her son is / will grow to be, refusing to see the full extent of his condition. Sweetrobin's helth problem seems to be multifactorial or else his illness exhibits multiple symptoms. It's not only the shaking that could be attributed to epilepsy, he also suffers from eye problems (photophobia?) and chronic rhinitis. Could be allergies, but all put together could also be indications of a (fictional) diabetes-like disease. All the above info comes from descriptions made by Catelyn and Sansa "real-time" observations, not from Lysa's "reporting". Lysa's behaviour is, unwillingly, a factor for deteriorating her son's health. That's because she is emotionally unstable and an irrational thinker, when Sweetrobin needs calmness, stability, security and help to mature quickly and deal rationally with his chronic condition. Instead, Lysa is pushing onto him her own fears and insecurities. Besides, we have seen Lysa acting in ways to attract attention, and it mainly consisted of making a spectacle of herself by behaving as the maiden fair prima donna. spoon89
the continuous breastfeeding and coddling and smothering might have been making robin more sick Actually I think that it is possible that the breast feeding is the result of Lysa's possible long term use of sweetsleep herself. We know that sweetsleep builds up in the body, if it can be passed through breastmilk, she may have inadvertently been medicating Sweetrobin's medical condition (or making him an addict). When she attempted to stop breastfeeding his fits started again, so she went back to breastfeed him (and inadvertently dosing him).
Berric_Dondiedagain
She already gets all the attention she could need as the ruler of the Vale. She is most likely praised daily for dropping a solid stool. I doubt she needs more attention and affection. I see her more as a mega-helicopter mom with twin mounted 50 caliber breast milk guns on each wing.
