  1. I liked the finale and I think they stuck the landing: Overall I think the final season was very good (which I think of every Expanse season) even if a few more episodes probably wouldn't have hurt. I think that if they aren't going to adapt the whole book series, this is probably one of the best places to stop, even if the inclusion of the Laconia stuff feels pretty weird. I'll miss the show and I'll miss Drummer, Amos and even Holden, but it did go out on a good note. Yeah, the time-skip in the books didn't really work for exactly this reason.
  2. I see that as the proof that Tarantino has finally crawled all the way up his own ass.
  3. I can't believe they made a Marauders book without any actual Marauders in it.
  4. I can't post in the Last Kingdom thread, although I can post fine elsewhere.
  5. I actually paused the episode right before the bedding so I could go outside, smoke a cigarette and steel myself before all the killing began. So, yeah, great job I guess.
  6. Was I the only one that took Barristan's comment about the unreliability and dishonorable ways of sellswords as a diss towards Jorah, as the latter spent years as one?
  7. Allright episode, not one of the best but probably neccesary for moving all the pieces together. - Tormund is showing of his more jolly side was great. At least he was talking about his member even though he never mentioned it explicitly. - I really liked the Jon & Ygritte scenes, really sweet. Ygritte & Orell felt kinda out of nowhere though. - The Tywin & Joffrey scene was also fantastic, great acting from both Charles Dance and Jack Gleeson. I also found it funny that for once Joffrey actually got a point in what he's saying. It also seemed like Joffrey was actally taking a bigger interest in the affairs of the realm and ruling rather than just demand heads on spikes. I can't remember if that was in the books. - All three dragons at the same time! - It was nice to have time for a little Tyrion / Bronn chatter too. Finally, something I kep thinking about every time I see Jorah. His new armor is fancy and all but it looks like it's made of leather and shouldn't that be a step down from his old plate armor?
  8. My comments. -Shireen was adorable -I thought Selyse was a lot less bitchy than in the books, but the fetuses made up for it in creepiness -Beric vs. The Hound was awesome, especially Sandor frantically trying to smash his burning shield. -Jorah & Barristan was awesome -Brienne and Jamie could probably not have been done better. -Nice to see Edmure being seemingly more resonable and less stupid while talking to Robb. The execution scene was also nice. -The guy who plays Roose Bolton just stepped up his game a notch. The line about Cersei being alright was brilliant . -Finally, the nudity of this paricukar episode seemed very balanced bewteen the genders. Also, Rose Leslie is gorgeous.
  9. This might very well be one of the greatest sentances I have read on this forum.
  10. Well, Iwan Rehon who plays "Boy" is about a year older than Alfie Allen. I liked the espisode overall. Didn'r care much for the Shae scene and the Sam scene but the rest was all good. I like that they make an effort to show off the Bolton and Karstak banners to reinforce their importance and to show that the North is more than just Starks. Also it was great seeing The Brotherhood, Paul Kaye did a great job as Thoros and I really liked him schooling Arya. Furthermore it seems that besides to add a bit of Tom O'Sevens to Thoros they added more than a bit of Lem to Anguy. Diana Rigg looks exactly like my mental image of The Queen of Thorns, so either it's a great bit of casting or all old ladies look the same to me.
  11. No, I'm pretty sure its Marmillion (or whatever he's called, Lysa's favourite singer) who gets his toung cut out. Other small things to add: The shot of Tywin, Loras and their forces arriving at the battle was beautiful, as was the giant green fireball. And I had almost forgot the obnoxious names Joffrey gives his swords
  12. Awesome episode. The only real complain I got is that Stannis sword wasn't fiery or whatever, which is such a minor complaint that it is pretty much irrelevant. So let's list the sheer amount of badassitude and awesomeness of the ep. - Stannis on the front line was great, a good contrast to Joffrey squirming away from the battle. King Stannis indeed. - Bronn was extra awesome, singing Reynes of Castamere, bumping heads with The Hound, lighting the wildfire, saving The Hound and killing people with only a knife. - The juxtaposition of Cersei / Tommen and the arrival of the Lannisters / Tyrells was great - The scene with Davos ship being blown to hell was totally gut-wrenching. - Tyrion fighting was handled nicely as was Ser Mandon's betrayal - Renly's Ghost! - And lastly awesome dialogue, Davos / Mathos, Tyrion / Varys, Tyrion / Bronn, Bronn / Sandor, Tyrion / Sansa, Sansa / Cersei, Tyrion / The troops, Bronn / the troops / prostitutes Also a mention for everyones favourite Kingsguard, the honourable and valiant Ser Boros Blount. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the drums were Epic!
  13. Didn't Roose say that they had gotten word from White Harbor and the Dreadfort too. Maybe Theon sent ravens to boast about his conquest?
  14. I liked that fact that the Lannister soldiers at the beginning was arguing over the same things as we do on the forum, "who is the best swordsman, warrior, etc." Otherwise I thought that newGregor was a bit of a disappointment, the guy didn't have the imposing build that Conan Stevens had. The Tickler on the other hand was pretty much perfect, an unremarkable guy doing terrible things and being absolutely unaffected by it. Overall the Harrenhall scenes were the best of the episode, seeing Tywin again was great and Aryas expending prayer too. And lastly, the shadowbaby-scene was kind of weird.
