  1. Without his dragon, Daemon would be crab food
  2. Dude honestly if you don’t have anything constructive to say then keep your BS to yourself. You are bringing down the IQ of everyone in the comment section by 10
  3. Then you are wrong and should feel bad about it
  4. Bowen Marsh is gonna get Wun Wun’d against a wall and die a painful traitors death.
  5. Rhaegar’s abduction of Lyanna has puzzled readers of ASOIAF for more than two decades now. Most have come to the conclusion that she went willingly. I happen to ascribed to that. But why would Lyanna, who was disgusted by Robert’s adulterous ways, run off with a married father of two? She could’ve been just kidnapped by a prophecy mad Prince, sure, but i don’t think that’s the case either. Aside from Robert, there isn’t a single character that speaks ill of Rhaegar. Even Ned, who held his dying sister in his arms after her birth of Jon. So I honestly doubt he took her against his will. So let’s go back to how Rhaegar and Lyanna would’ve met. Lets briefly talk about the idea that Aegon the Conquerer did have a prophetic dream of the threat of the Others. I know a lot of y’all don’t like that idea, and I don’t particularly care for it myself. But I personally think it’s likely he did have one. Aegon’s reign was relatively long and peaceful for the most part. Aegon himself was actually as private a person as a King could manage. He seemed disinterested in ruling, leaving it to his sisters for the most part. It seems out of character for a Conquerer, who went out of his way to conquer a continent to be so uninterested in ruling. But if he did it because of his prophecy, it could make sense. When King Torrhen came before Aegon and his sisters, it’s unknown what words passed between them. But it’s said messages passed back and forth between camps throughout the night. Perhaps Aegon mentioned his prophecy to Torrhen, as Torrhen would likely be the only King of Westeros to take a threat from the Others seriously. We also have GRRM himself telling show runners to include it. So, honestly, I think it’s true. Then, during the Dance of the Dragona, we have Jacaerys Velaryon’s trip to Winterfell. He was only there for a few days as far as I’m aware, and what words passed between the two is unclear and up for much speculation. But by the end of it a pact was formed, promising joining of the two families. Alas, Jace perished in the Dance, and I think this would be where Aegon’s prophecy perished as well. Yet Cregan remained. So if the Starks were ignorant before, I think Cregan was made aware. The identity of the Knight of the Laughing Tree has been a minor mystery debated by fans for just as long as Rhaegar’s abduction. One of the possible candidates, and the most likely IMO, is Lyanna Stark. The Mad King ordered Rhaegar to track down this knight as he was paranoid that the knight was out to get him. So off Rhaegar went….and came back. Supposedly never finding TKOTLT. But I suspect he DID find him. He caught Lyanna. For obvious reasons the Knight could not return to the tourney, nor could Lyanna be recognized for her pursuit of justice for the mistreatment of Howland Reed. But Rhaegar respected her. Which is why he crowned her the Queen of Love & Beauty. As a mark of respect. Obviously there were ramifications to this choice, but it is seemingly a mark of respect from Rhaegar, to Lyanna. There was time between the Tourney at Harrenhal and her abduction, but at some point they came back into contact with one another. What is said between them is speculation. But I think Rhaegar informed her of a propechy. Either his rediscovery of Aegon’s Prophecy, lost overtime, or that he had his own prophecy. As Rhaegar was a dreamer, of this I’m pretty certain. Perhaps his dreams weren’t that powerful, but they were enough to convince Rhaegar to drastically change the direction of his life. “It seems I must be a warrior.” I think he may have discovered writings of Aegon’s Propechy or had his own dream. But over the course of his life, and his obsession with Summerhall, indicates a troubled soul. We also have the fact that Jeor was very much aware of Crastor sacrificing his sons. I don’t believe for a second that the LC could keep that hidden forever. Especially if it wasn’t a first time thing. I think Rickard, and by extension Brandon was aware of the existence of the Others, Lyanna spent most of her life in Winterfell, so it’s within reason Rickard outright told her when she was old enough, or she heard from Brandon. Benjen was too young. But Ned, by the time he was old enough, was already in the Vale. So Lyanna runs off because of what she knows, Brandon and Rickard are murdered by Aerys, and when Ned rescues Lyanna from the ToJ she makes Ned “Promise”. What this promise was is a mystery to this day. Many think the promise was to take care of Jon, and I think that’s part of it, but I would not be shocked if she tried to pass on what she knew to Ned. Of the Others, of the coming War for the Dawn. She wanted Ned’s promise to prepare Jon, and the realm for that war. But Ned thought she was delirious or that it was just a tragic child’s fantasy taken too far. Thus the knowledge was lost to House Stark, as it was lost to House Targaryen.
  6. Dalton Greyjoy was the deadliest man alive at the time of the Dance. Individually. He’d best Criston Cole and Daemon Targaryen
  7. GRRM outright called Tyrion a villain. I think tyrion will be the devil on her shoulder. Whilst Barristan or Jon will be the Angel.
  8. Rickon is about to be picked up by the Manderly’s who want him as Lord/King. Meanwhile, Jon is about to be resurrected and Robb’s Will is floating out there. Meaning Jon & Rickon could very well both be vying for the Northern throne, I doubt they come to blows. But it will be a cause of major tension.
  9. Jon & Dany’s stories parallel each other’s in a lot of ways. So much so that most fans agree, their meeting is inevitable. My predictions for the direction the story is going has them both entering their dark arcs in TWOW. Dany embraces her heritage of Fire & Blood, burning Volantis, and Jon will return more like Stark of old, taking what he believes is his, and ruthlessly killing those in his way. But just as it’s darkest before the Dawn, the winds of winter will howl and drag them down but a dream of spring will warm them. I think at least one of them will be pulled back from the ledge. And I think it will be Jon. Daenerys has desired a true family, her whole life. But she’s never truly had one. Jon on the otherhand has a loving family. His siblings, while separated, are still alive. I expect that they will reunite by the end. Daenerys on the otherhand, has never had true family as she sees it. She has advisors and friends, but no family. And she routinely ignores her advisors advice when she feels she is in the right. I think it’s very possible that both go down dark paths in the next book, but by the end of the series Jon will be pulled back from the bring by his family, whereas Dany could fall into the darkness of her heritage completely, ignoring her advisors that beg her not to, whilst listening to Tyrion, the advisor she shouldn’t.
  10. I’m personally more of the mind Dany is AAR. But I also think the original Azor Ahai was in fact the Bloodstone Emperor. I think Azor Ahai Reborn, Dany, may save the world from the Others, but then become an antagonist to the world. GRRM even said in an interview that Dany is the Fire and the Others are the Ice and said BOTH were threats to Westeros. Daenerys will try to change Westeros radically, and will be resisted. She’ll then return to her Fire & Blood roots as she will in Volantis. She doesn’t have anyone that could pull her back from such a Rash decision. Whereas Jon has Bran, Rickon, Arya, and Sansa. Family. Daenerys has advisors and friends, but she has a habit of overruling them when she feels she is right.
  11. On a serious note, I do think Jon will be a Night King esq figure. His resurrection will parallel Daenerys’ pyre scene. Those left will witness his return but realize he is different from the Wights. He’ll get the followers he was after before his death, and I think he may declare himself King on the Wall. If Robb’s Will resurfaces, I could definitely see him declaring himself King of the North. Perhaps the Wildlings declare him their King. Jon will March South to Winterfell to take care of what remains of the Boltons and possibly Stannis.
  12. I think Jon’s resurrection means Ghost will die to return his soul to his body
  13. I agree to an extent, but if you read any of the horse shot D&D have said over the course of the series, it’s hard not to hate them
  14. Jon & Rickon are on a crash course with each other. Bran will soon come into his powers, and be able to interact. Sansa is going to reveal herself in the next book, and will hear of Jon & Rickon. Arya is the only one that isn’t really on course with her family yet. And the could change, depending on how she leaves Braavos.
  15. This is, quite frankly, the most stupid and asinine threads I’ve ever seen on this site. The fact it hasn’t been locked or deleted by the mods is nothing short of astounding to me. There is absolutely no merit to the idea that the Tully’s have a mad gene in them. It also seems quite obvious that this threat was meant to use the 2, ONLY 2, Tully women going mad after years of abuse and severe moments of trauma, to defend Targaryens throughout their 300 years of tyranny. Stop responding to this thread, and let it die.
  16. The idea that Arya will or is likely to burn King’s Landing holds no water. She clearly isn’t, and to argue for it is either to argue in bad faith, or just to troll. In short, please stop responding to this thread. Let it die, not with dignity, but with a lonely death in a ditch somewhere. Forgotten.
  17. House Reyne - “Gurgle, Gurgle” House Greystark - “Why shouldn’t it be us”
  18. I’m predicting a Pyrrhic victory for Stannis. He’ll win the Battle, but Ramsay escapes and his army is devastated. The Northern lords turn on the Boltons and Stannis for their one true King. Stark. Ramsay I think survives long enough to face Jon, as quite frankly I feel they need to meet each other before Ramsay dies. After that i suspect a possible Dance of the Wolves. Not a full blown Civil War, but I think Jon will have supporters in the North, and so will Rickon. While I expect Jon to return hardened and darkened by his experiences, I doubt he is so far gone as to harm one of his siblings. After that, I’d expect one of them to be King in the North.
  19. What fanfiction have you been reading? Whoever told you it was ADWD lied to you.
  20. Head is different than throat. I’ve had a major head wound before, and it bled a lot.
  21. The problem with Riverlands has never been internal squabbling. It’s always been the fact that they were surround by every other Kingdom. And they lacked natural defenses that others had. The sheer amount of Kingdoms surrounding them meant that it was always likely they’d have a neighbor wanting to expand into them. Meaning they’d be constantly at war. To maintain that, you’d need a strong martial culture. Tristifer IV’s story was likely exaggerated to an extent, but I honestly don’t think by much.
  22. He was bleeding so much from his neck that it was welling up through his gloved fingers. It was a deep neck wound. Remeber, this is from Jon’s POV. He thinks the knife barely grazed him. But the blood, welling between his fingers, indicates he is losing a lot of blood. A video I watched on Jon, mentioning his assassination, went over that the throat actually has led nerves than one would think, which is why when slaughtering animals it’s considered more humane. Can’t find it, so won’t ask you to give that much thought. But he was also fully of adrenaline and in shock. Both emotionally and physically. Explaining why he didn’t feel the severity. Him also going cold at the end, while it can be attributed to the snow he was laying in, can also be easily attributed to blood loss. Finally, his last words, Ghost, mimic Robb’s who died.
  23. I disagree on that. His wounds were fatal. Their location, and the amount of blood to me is fatal.
