  1. Mulling things over a bit more - the revelation that Lanfear sent the broken seal and poem to Moiraine in the first place had me wondering how she was so across the relationships of the kids+Moiraine/Lan and where Moiraine was located to give her that push. Then I remembered that it was heavily implied in episode 7 that Verin was taking orders from Lanfear, and that Moiraine was staying with Verin for months between seasons. So that actually fits together really nicely. Obviously Verin is actually on the side of the light but she's playing her deep cover very carefully and I think would provide enough of the details to cover what I had question marks over.
  2. Sorry to go the triple post but saw this suggestion so rewatched the last scene to confirm - Moggy's trap for Lanfear pulls her into a dream. She's walking along and the light looks warm and normal then suddenly the light is cold, the fire has no warmth and the candles barely give any light at all. Moggy doesn't channel to contain Lanfear, it's dream manipulation and when she vanishes it looks nothing like traveling and the light snaps back to normal and warm. Very nicely done.
  3. Also I was entirely satisfied with the way they had Min's vision about Mat come true. Ticked every box I was looking for in paying it off, and it wasn't one of the ones Min understands.
  4. I think a number of the smaller things people are unhappy with, such as Ingtar, are simply casualties of the necessary plot rewrite and only getting 8 episodes. I actually liked Nyn's block having genuine impact rather than being able to Hulk her way around it whenever it's important. It felt like prioritizing the character moment of her accepting her impotence in the moment as a step to breaking her block in the near future. I also really liked Rand dealing with Turak. It's not swordplay lessons from Lan but "put the mission first, you can't risk the world just to engage in a stupid duel" feels entirely in keeping with what Lan was trying to tell them all in ep7. And it's right, it's absolutely dumb for Rand to do that. It also showcased him using the same weaves that Ishy uses battering down Egwene's shield and we haven't seen anything like it from the other channelers - it's the dexterity with weaves rather than raw power and it's probably Lews providing AoL weaves. The closest we've seen from modern channelers is Siuan's crown of daggers (and on the subject - she's been portrayed as significantly faster than most of the other Aes Sedai). Also noteworthy that it's the first time Rand intentionally kills other humans - he's lagging behind the others on that lol. I'm definitely not assuming this early that the Finn/doorways are out, and I really doubt this is actually Mat's permanent weapon - the dagger is evil and dangerous, I think it much more likely that will be addressed next season and he still gets his proper one. I'm not actually 100% that Egwene killed Renna - that's the obvious implication but it's possible she released the Adam at the same time Renna passed out. I'm assuming she did kill her, but there's enough ambiguity that if they want to have Renna dealing with the whole Suldam can channel thing it's not a retcon. I noticed early in the fight that the damane we had seen the most - the blonde one - wasn't on the tower and when Ishy said Suroth was to have her strongest on the ship in reserve I'm now 100% convinced that's Alivia. She was also the one that was finding the women the could channel to collar. Ishy and Lanfear were perfect - he never doubted for a second that she was going to betray him, yet he was still caught off guard by how thoroughly she fucked up his plans - everything turned out exactly as she wanted except the other Forsaken being released, which itself was an excellent "fuck you" back to her. Also not buying for a second that Ishy is dead and we're done with Fares Fares. The father of lies seeming to die immediately following one illusion of himself being revealed right before yet another illusion is used by someone else... There's a lot of misdirection going on there. And if there's an explanation for why a heated sword stabbing his heart would make him turn to ash and blow away I missed it. He barely even defended himself as soon as Rand is up - a couple of years darts that Rand swats aside then watches as Rand takes 3 steps to get to him and stabs him without lifting a hand.
  5. If they want to stick to smaller scale stories for the games (like V fighting to survive) then maybe they want to cover the next Corpo war, that's very likely kicking off after the events of everything except the devil ending and possibly even still then, in the TV series and then the game can have it's smaller scope against the back drop of the war going on without needing to focus on it.
  6. Hadn't actually thought to check for people talking about it, but did just now and this comment seems a likely explanation If it's just messed up with the decimal point in the wrong spot it's an easy bug to understand and hopefully to fix.
  7. Yeah I'm thinking there's not a happy end for them lol.
  8. I think that looks terrible to every other Aes Sedai, but Siuan heard Lanfear about to kill her and be stopped by Rand, and that there's nothing any of them can do to stop Lanfear taking Rand at that point if she chooses to. I think she's pragmatic enough to think that keeping by Rand's side to protect him is understanding if she's convinced Moiraine isn't black due to the stuff I said. If she's still convinced Moiraine lied then yeah, that's not going to look good lol.
  9. I did consider this but I think what I said fits the looks they are giving each other at the end. I don't think those looks fit Siuan being convinced she's dark and not feeling any regret/remorse for forcing her. Obviously that's just interpretation and it can be wrong, but I'll view the finale through that lens unless it's contradicted.
  10. I think a better way to say what I was trying to get at is
  11. Can you talk them into dropping the NIMBY shit at the state level if you manage to get them to listen to your advice?
  12. Missed this before, that ones an old bug that apparently isn't worth fixing - it just used to give white/green and a couple of blue. Now it scales off your level lol. That's also one scanner mission that if you go back the next day there's a corpo clean up crew trying to cover up the whole thing - the initial mission was union busting by killing a bunch of striking workers. I like to kill the clean up crew too. I actually finished PL tonight, got the credits and all. Noticed a good auto save to get both outcomes so the PL ending is accessible from one of those although that route isn't my personal canon choice for this V. I embraced spoilers for the game ending though so know how it plays out. On the whole this was really just a spectacular expansion. The game play the whole way through was fantastic, the surface level spy thriller was engaging, but I actually think it's strongest on the thematic level - Songbird's fight for her own survival is such a perfect accompaniment to V's story of the same. This was already one of the things that I thought stood out about the base story - one of the smallest scopes of any game in a long time. Not trying to save the galaxy, humanity, Earth or anything else. Just V is dying and fighting like hell to survive. Finally on the fight front
  13. Well I found the problem and it was a single thing - that 100% crit cyberware increased my damage from 3-7k on a crit to 20k-80k (that I saw in a couple of hours). Nothing in it's description would expect that large a boost from it so I wonder if there's a bug.
  14. The Moiraine/Siuan stuff is another one I've seen a fair bit of speculation about potentially being theater, and I don't think that works for the last of it but I do think there's more to it than just what we superficially see. The conflict at the way gate seems legitimate and I don't see Moiraine agreeing to a plan that could have very easily had Siuan being killed by Lanfear. The interpretation that makes sense to me of those events is that Siuan shows up at the waygate and sees Moiraine channeling which makes her question everything about their entire relationship because this seems very much like a lie. If Moiraine is actually black, then her emotional appeals are meaningless, the entire thing is a lie and she needs to fight her If she can force Moiraine to obey, then Moiraine is still constrained by the oath rod and something else is going on which means she can still trust Moiraine even if she disagrees So that's what she does. Knowing it might completely destroy their relationship, she forces her to close the waygate and confirms Moiraine isn't black So although it would look suspicious as hell for Moiraine to be entering the ways with the Dragon and Lanfear, Siuan knows that its not because she's a dark friend. Yup agreed
  15. We don't see Ihvon but Tomas is with Verin when she's handing the Ogier map over and telling Moiraine and Rand where to go. Verin and Tomas stay with Alanna and Maksim to make sure they're not followed (this is requested by Lan rather than stated by either of the Aes Sedai) and we don't see them again after this. We do see that Siuan is not stopped, or even seemingly delayed by them so huge question marks over what they do after they split up as far as I'm concerned. The more of this episode I dig into the more the Daes Dae'Mar title is actually warranted. There are definitely games being played below the surface. I'm not sure exactly what the puzzle is, but I'm sure there is one.
  16. I watched the scene again and it goes Yasicca talking to Verin over the establishing shot as we zoom in on them with Yasicca watching as Joiya (the bald Aes Sedai that's black in the book) walks by Yasicca hiding handing the Ogier map to Verin after she's passed by Another shot of Joiya talking to another Aes Sedai followed immediately by a cut to Alanna looking down with Maksim leaning against something while he's watching Verin as Tomas departs filmed from a perspective with the camera between Alanna and Maksim with them framing the sides Verin looks across at/near the camera and seems to drop her eyes slightly and see something before looking down Then a wider out shot of Alanna with Maksim and Ihvon, this is the shot the screenshot is from with Maksim sliding his thumb like he's fidgeting while looking at Verin and Ihvon saying "I don't trust Verin Sedai, even if Lan does" The fidgeting makes it deniable but the rest of it seems extremely intentional. That scene was a lot more packed with detail than I realized. It also unclear that if he is indeed making the Black Ajah symbol whether its actually for Verin for Joiya's benefit, if the latter then having Verin catch it can make her suspicious of Alanna as well. ETA: Brook also pointed out when you take Ihvon saying he doesn't trust Verin at the same time as Maksim makes the gesture it can also fit with them somehow being aware of the gesture and setting a trap for Verin.
  17. My wife had a question mark over him most of the season due to the comment about Alanna mostly leaving the bond masked, I didn't think anything of it and was hoping she was wrong.
  18. And after all that discussion I forgot what I actually came into the thread to post https://reddit.com/r/WoTshow/s/PJwQIs1ecY I'd actually forgotten that gesture was a thing so needed the explanation, I don't think I want this though lol.
  19. The great man theory of history isn't something I subscribe to, but it can make for very entertaining fiction. Code Geass really springs to mind for that one.
  20. 5 warlock with pact of the blade, 6 bard with college of swords, the best rapier from act 3 will get him 4 attacks a turn using charisma for them. Stuff as many tadpoles in his head as you can to max out cull the weak. Or eldritch blast like relic said.
  21. Another option is that Egwene and Elayne go back but Nynaeve doesn't and she still has the rings. I'm sure you can manufacture a reason she feels she needs to stick to Rand through the season skip and have them meet up again early in the next season after E^2 leave the tower (possibly for a different reason to the black Ajah hunt). Maybe it's as simple as Rand needs a ton of repeat healing and after the way things have gone this season they don't trust letting any other Aes Sedai near him.
  22. All of that has only been about 6k for me on a crit though so I'm missing a couple of modifiers and it's almost certainly something dumb I haven't read right because I think I already know what it does lol.
  23. I'm sure I'm doing most of that. Is the 100% crit the iconic variant of the brain cyberware that gives 35% crit to quick hacks? I haven't seen that so need to go to the right ripper. But that shouldn't make the crit numbers higher, just always crit. I was getting most of the iconic quick hacks last night and initially didn't see any difference between legendary and iconic sonic shock but although the effect is the same the iconic sonic shock is only 2 RAM so using that over purple now. I hadn't had any crashes before last night but had 3 or 4 last night, 3 of them killing the same guy in a Rogue gig. Wasn't sure if it was the tiny update yesterday or the fact I'd been running a VM for work before playing yesterday and it used to negatively impact performance in prior patches.
  24. 60k? Wtf am I doing wrong, I'm not getting anything like that lol. I underestimated how much impact the heal on kill would have though, chaining synapse burn out to extend overclock is doing work now.
