  1. Anthony Ryan has a post-apocalyptic thriller titled Red River Seven coming out in October.
  2. That would mean it's the 2nd highest in terms of budget with Lord of the Rings show being 1st. Both shows from Amazon. Bloody hell, Amazon spending some crazy money on flop shows. This new one will flop as well. I mean Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra are main leads. Two of the most wooden actors I've seen.

  7. From the upcoming academic year, school textbooks in India have removed whole chunks of history. https://m.thewire.in/article/education/ncert-mughal-empire-gujarat-riots-class-12/amp A number of scholars on the Mughal empire have reacted strongly to the move. Simon Schama, a British historian, tweeted, “This is another preposterous war on history – the Mughals were a magnificent civilisation producing transcendent art, music, architecture”. Katherine Schofield, who is a historian of music and listening in Mughal India, tweeted, “This RIDICULOUS. The Mughals ruled over much of India for over 200 years (technically over 300) and left behind an enduring legacy. Love them, loathe them, or really not care — leaving the Mughals out of school history textbooks won’t magic them away.” Author and historian Audrey Truschke said that the move marks another “chapter in the embrace of ignorance over knowledge that is increasingly common in Indian society under Hindu nationalist rule”. She tweeted, “Indian history remains untouched by such censorship. Modern ignorance thereof is another matter.”

Kaos: Netflix’s British Twist on Greek Myths Should Be On Your Radar Kaos has been a long-time coming. Netflix first announced it had commissioned this British dark comedy reimagining Greek mythology back in 2018, but the pandemic meant that filming only started last year, and there’s already been one major cast replacement.Covell wrote the critically acclaimed dark comedy drama The End of the F***ing World – an adaptation of Charles Forsman’s comics of the same name – for Channel 4 back in 2017 Set over eight one-hour episodes, Kaos is a contemporary reimagining of Greek Mythology exploring themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld. The official synopsis describes how six humans will discover they’re part of an ancient prophecy: “Zeus has a wrinkle. He’s worried it might mean the end of the world and it might. Because on Earth, six humans unaware of their importance or their connection to each other learn that they are component parts of an ancient prophecy. Will they discover the truth about the gods, and what they’re doing to humans? And, if they do, will they be able to stop them?” Deadline reported further plot details, explaining that Zeus becomes deeply paranoid about his own downfall, causing trouble for Hera, Queen of the Gods, on Earth, and leaving his rebellious son Dionysus free to cause havoc. Elsewhere, Hades is losing his grip on the Underworld, and Poseidon – God of the Sea – is more concerned with partying. While the gods are distracted, people on earth are demanding change, and a group of mortals from different walks of life discover they might be destined to bring down Zeus. Speaking to the Radio Times, creator Charlie Covell describes Kaos as: “…a big show… hopefully with a kind of Game of Thrones scale – but tonally it should [feel] End of the World-y, in terms of its humour and its soundtrack and the look of it. One of the big steers for me was the Baz Luhrmann Romeo + Juliet as a look.” Cast Jeff Goldblum as Zeus Janet McTeer as Hera Cliff Curtis as Poseidon David Thewlis as Hades Killian Scott as Orpheus Debi Mazar as Medusa Aurora Perrineau as Riddy Misia Butler as Caneus Leila Farzad as Ari Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus Rakie Ayola Stanley Townsend Billie Piper Fady Elsayed Lena Headey To Star In Kurt Sutter’s Netflix Series ‘The Abandons’ https://deadline.com/2023/03/lena-headey-kurt-sutters-western-netflix-series-the-abandons-1235310815/ Game of Thrones alumna Lena Headey has been tapped to headline Kurt Sutter’s Western action drama series The Abandons at Netflix.
