  1. Caught up on the first four issues of the Legion of Superheroes...and I'm...underwhelmed...
  2. Damn it, I wish I could get the gif I want to use embedded on the thread to express my delight in returning home...
  3. I seriously thought the original thread was locked...that's why I started a new one...finding it merged to the old...wow.
  4. A Brightness Long Ago... ...is it weird that I love so many things about this book, but I'm not finding myself drawn in in such a manner that it is taking me more time to finish than I expected...?
  5. Got my hands on Legion of Superheroes #1...and I'm not sold in the Bendis style of writing on this book. I'm a huge Legion partisan, and it's relaunch is another reason I'm back in the comic shop more than once in a blue moon these days, but the first issue wasn't all I hoped for. I'll stick with it for now though...
  6. Cleaning and reorganizing some stuff today and pulled out an old Eternals King Sized Annual...I don't remember how I got it, I know haven't read it in easily 20 years...but the main point is that it was written and drawn by Jack Kirby...
  7. Aw. I've got, I think, Adlard's entire X-Files run...those are some issues I wouldn't mind seeing signatures on... My strangest issue I'm looking to get signed some day, if possible, is a copy of DC's Arion #12 drawn by Jan Duursema. Why? Mainly because it's one of the first two comics I ever got...
  8. You'd think I'd remember reading/collecting around 8 years of Green Lantern...but no... Nostalgia is why I still have them...despite my wife's best efforts! Other than a couple sold for extra travel cash when I moved from Virginia to Wisconsin... Have a few more signed ones I want framed...just haven't had time yet.
  9. Maybe. I'm investigating if I can at least get the boxes better elevated off the floor. It's weird, I don't really want to part with them, but since I've never really catalogued them all, I don't really know everything I have any more. For instance, I know I collected Green Lantern for a stretch there in the 90s, but last night I realized it was for about 80 straight issues. I don't remember that at all...
  10. So...earlier this summer we bought a house. I have a basement/man cave/library set up of my own finally... except for shared space for Little Jax's legos...it's a 90 year old house. There are cracks and spots we're still learning about. Last night we had about 5 hours plus of a steady downfall. We've had rain since moving in, but nothing like this. This morning, we discovered water got in to the basement under the stairs. Of course, that's where I've got a number of long boxes stored. Five have taken some serious water damage, but luckily damn near everything in them are in plastic, and luckily, so far, anything that wasn't in plastic doesn't seem to be impacted as of now. But I've got to replace these boxes...does anyone use plastic long boxes for storage? I've seen some online, but 30 bucks plus seems steep... Anyone?
  11. Bronn speaks sense. Contracts - D. Adams - 4 years K. Johnson - 2 years Mack - 3 years Haskins - 2 years Singletary - 2 years Goodwin - 2 years
  12. Whelp...only one player kept on my roster. I'll keep him...
  13. Where's the log in info? I'll get back in.
  14. 930 eastern is a little better for me. Kids are SUPPOSED to be in bed by then, but the 3rd is also the fisrt day of school, so it'll be an adventure getting them back into a routine. But I'll make it work.
  15. Draft tomorrow. Just waiting on this and Thunderdome.
  16. Maybe if there'd been an intended sequel(s), it might have worked better...?
  17. If it doesn't have to be fantastical or hero related, then Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise is amazing.
  18. Am I on that list? Need to try to keep up this year...
  19. Finished Last Light of the Sun, which for reasons, I thought was about sometbing else initally, even though it was talked about here...I thought it was wonderful in many ways. Close to, but not quite on par with Lions. Also finished Children of Earth and Sky, and I liked it, but it also felt a little disjointed in the tales it was telling...
  20. I've jumped into Children of Earth and Sky next. Is that a mistake?
  21. Finally finished Lions of Al-Rassan last night. I admit I struggled initially for the first chapter or so...I continually had to flip back to the dramatis persona to double check who was who at times... but I'll be damned if wasn't as wonderful as advertised. I loved it. Without a large scale read of Kay overall, it's my top story right now. I had a couple quibbles, but nothing that marred the overall beauty of the story.
  22. Have been behind on trying more Kay in general, beyond Tigana, Arbonne, and the Fionavar Tapestry (which Instill haven't actually finished), but you all have me ready to go back, so I'm starting Lions today...
