Watch, Watched, Watching: Watching Severance and working for Lumon

Did a rewatch of Midnight Mass. Loved it even more the second time through. Hamish Linklater was just fantastic in this. Wish he was in more stuff. Probably going to do The Haunting of Hill House again next. -

Winter’s Bone is great. Leave No Trace is another really good one from the same director (Debra Granik) if you haven’t seen it. -

Chopper is another good one from Australia. Rarely ever see anyone talk about it. -
I watched the Madame Web video he put up despite having absolutely no interest in it. Mostly out of curiosity after seeing the uproar over him turning into a “Hollywood schill” or whatever. And then he literally went on to bash the studio in the video… Anyway, the above Dune: Part Two review is the topic at hand here. For anyone interested. And he’s hardly alone in his effusive praise for the film from everything I’ve been seeing.

I couldn’t care less if he doesn’t want to bash the latest comic book movie or not. He puts out great content, and I’ll continue to watch his stuff.

You definitely don’t watch Yellowstone for good writing. That’s for sure. It’s fun though. And the locations are gorgeous (think it’s mostly filmed in Utah). Costner and Kelly Reilly are both pretty good in it, too. -

Saloum. A Senegalese-French crime/horror thriller that feels a bit like a western with supernatural elements. This movie rocks. The 3rd act wasn’t quite as strong as the fantastic first 2/3, but I really dug this one overall. -

Watched the Japanese horror/comedy One Cut of the Dead. What an absolute gem of a little film. It’s impossible to describe why it’s so good without spoiling it, but I can’t recommend it enough. -

Great use of music, too. Some of the songs they picked to end the episodes were just perfect. -

I loved Life’s Too Short. I’ve rewatched it a few times and it absolutely cracks me up. -

Start one. I'm digging this season so far, but I’m a sucker for horror stuff with a snowy setting.
