  1. One of my all time favorite shows. Quality level is even from season 1 to the end and that's an impressive thing to nail. Enjoy the journey mate.
  2. I love that Harry Kane left Tottenham to turn Bayern into Tottenham. Can't get much more perfect than that.
  3. And now Rice with 25 yarders. Channeling James Ward-Prowse.
  4. Rice’s set piece delivery is… dare I say it… Ward-Prowse esq.
  5. Arsenal’s bench is so bad with 7 first team regulars not available and one of the 3 left on bench injured and not practiced all week. West Ham about to down us again.
  6. I like it in concept, hate it likely in practice. More subjectivity and inconsistency in the game, more power to officials. Not great, Bob.
  7. That's the easy stance if you're Trump's lawyers but from everything I've read and every decision that has been issued on this, that stance has very little actual backing. Impeachment is not a criminal court and in this case specifically, he literally said that if he is acquitted from being impeached, he could be tried by a court of law. His own lawyer's words sink his argument. I think if they do take it up, it's not to solely focus on this issue but more to bring some level of immunity threshold to the discussion, which is kinda saying the same thing as you. Former presidents are immune for discretionary acts while in office but not ministerial, this means, x, y and z. Apply said test to Trump and he fails so it's ok to take him to trial. if they do that, he won't go to trial for awhile. If they don't take it up, trial will likely start in June or July and go through Sept / Oct (according to legal guys). He'd be convicted (if he is convicted) before the election. They may take it up just to avoid that on the basis above, who knows. I understand what you're saying, but in this case, if they deny cert given how high profile it is, I don't see why they'd grant cert later down the road with the same petitioner and the same immunity arguments. They would be effectively washing their hands of this and I can't see how a conviction would change the arguments. Any kind of trial before the election is a nightmare for 30% of the population regardless of what SCOTUS does but it's also necessary to A. hold him accountable or not and B. resolve a major indictment of a Presidential candidate for the voting public. Pushing it just seems so much worse of an option because if he wins, he won't be tried and he'll take it 900x further to prevent any scenario where he ever could. Anyway, who knows. All speculation at this point.
  8. I’m not sure this is crossing anyone’s mind though if they agree with the merits that he has absolute immunity, they should be prepared for him to throw some people through their window Putin style. I suspect Trump would be president until he died if he had absolute immunity for everything and I just don’t see how SCOTUS, especially conservative justices, would ever affirm that belief and render their power moot. By not hearing the case, they are affirming the district and appeals court opinions, both of which are the same. If they stay the case pending writ, they have to find some way that he has a chance to win by the merits. I don’t see any way they take up the case, just to write an opinion that basically says the same thing as the two courts before them. If they take it up, they’re looking for an angle to either grant him immunity or send it back to the district court to look at additional questions (e.g., if he has partial immunity, what’s the threshold test to apply in future situations and does Trump fail that immunity test) which will fundamentally delay any trial until after the election. This is possible but I find it highly unlikely that the SCOTUS will take up the writ just to affirm the two courts below them. Trump could appeal his conviction to the SCOTUS but two things will happen. 1. He will need to appeal it on a reasoning that’s not full immunity and 2. He will be convicted pending appeal. He can have that vacated but until then, he’s a convicted felon.
  9. Only if SCOTUS takes up the case on the merits. They may not want to touch it given judges on both sides are saying the same thing plus former judges, legal scholars and well, everyone but him. That seems more likely to me than them taking it up and declaring a former President immune. If they deny cert, trial likely in late spring I think.
  10. I originally thought it was going to be what you thought; a remake of the movie but with diversity but it's so much more. We are really enjoying it. Completely different from the movie in almost every way and it totally works. It very much has Glover's hands all over it, with some seriously whacky scenarios and incredibly awkward moments. It has more of an Atlanta vibe (which makes sense given Glover's and Francesca Sloane co-creating it) than a sexy ode to assassins like the movie and it's better for it. For those that like Sepinwall, here is his fantastic take on it. Spoiler, he likes it a lot. Also, the cameos are hilarious. Every episode so far has had one or two big ones. Cracking me up.
  11. That'll be huge, especially with Zinchenko coming off at half with yet another calf injury. Luckily Tomi is back this week from Asia Cup but he doesn't exactly have the most stellar injury history either.
  12. Luckily, this year, we don't need to play Rob Holding as our starting CB in the most crucial stretch of the run in.
  13. No one said "all we did". But we did increase the chance of City winning another title. That chance can change if they lose today but as of yesterday, it did increase their odds.
  14. Who said we can't compete? All I said is that our win over Liverpool helped City more than us. That is statistically true based on fixtures, squad, and games in hand. I didn't say they're going to win or that we have no chance. Yes, all teams will drop points, I just think it's less likely City drop more than us. Poor Havertz. He was great yesterday, absolutely critical in bullying Konate but just can't finish. So frustrating.
  15. At the Etihad? I'm not expecting this, especially with our paper thin squad. I'm not counting out more injuries. Your confidence is very high, appreciate that, but I still remember us playing Fulham, West Ham and Liverpool (in the FA Cup) this season. Those types of matches can and will happen to us.
  16. Yes it is. City now is 5 pts behind with 2 games in hand. If Liverpool won, they'd stay ahead, now City is in the driver seat. Sure we can compete, but we're going to need to win some big away games (still need to go to City, United, Spurs) and actually score our xG and give up our xG against, neither of which is assured given we're incredible at wasting chances and fantastic at giving up goals on minimal shots on target. Don't get me wrong, huge match for Arsenal to stay in the race, but that helped City get closer to winning the league than it did us.
  17. I get it but I'm just trying to understand if it's just Arsenal or it's always been happening and I just wasn't aware because it doesn't show up on my page since it's not Arsenal. All commentary on celebrations is annoying to me because it takes away from the game itself and focuses on something completely arbitrary and in the moment.
  18. But there was literally a clip from the PL official twitter account a week ago showcasing Klopp's over the top celebrations. I just don't remember national pundits shitting all over Klopp for it but maybe it was happening and I just wasn't paying attention. Pep has done it, City has celebrated, mid table teams celebrate, De Zerbi literally went insane for the 3rd goal Brighton scored on Saturday. It's natural. That was my main question, do you remember as a Liverpool fan, Carragher, Neville, et al ever criticizing Klopp / Liverpool for celebrating when they've won a big match? As for Odegaard, I think it's amazing. Here is the captain of the team, taking a lap with the club photographer who has been working with Arsenal for 20+ years and is a lifelong gooner. You have the fans going insane behind you and you force the photographer, who's always taking the photos to have one of himself on the pitch post-match between the two top clubs in the PL right now. That's just leadership. I see nothing cringe about that. He just made Stuart MacFarlane feel valued in a way that is impossible to measure. I wish we saw more of that type of shit rather than criticizing it.
  19. My twitter feed is all covered in comments from the celebration police (i.e., Neville, Carragher, Ferdinand, Keys). Have I just been blind because it wasn't my team but has there ever been this much discussion within UK football media about how happy a team is allowed to be when winning a big game? On NBC sports in the US, all the focus was on the tactical nature of the game but every commentary I keep seeing from UK clips (and I fully recognize they're just clips) is on how much Arsenal celebrates and how much they shouldn't. ETA: seems it’s just Sky Sports really and a few others but BBC MOTD was great and as I said, US coverage was very good. Still, it’s constant and I just don’t any commentary that’s been associated with celebrations with other teams.
  20. No but at least there is public transportation from a major city to get there.
