Ravenkingsamurai
Similar to the thread " what if Arya killed Joffrey?" What if Cersei got her way and Arya-not Sansas wolf- was punished. I believe Cersei talks in later books about Arya losing a hand. How would this affect Stark-Iron throne relations? Would Ned be spared being executed in the south and the Starksbe in a better position if ( or rather when) Robert dies and war breaks out? How would this affect Arya, since it may stop her being a badass warrior?
MasterJack
Almost the same if Ned dont just return North. i think. Ned wouldnt tell Cercei he know about the bastards but that doesnt change a lot, she can destroy that shitty Will again. Arya didnt escape the RedKeep since she has no Syrio and 1 hand. Ends up as another hostage. Rest of the story is almost the same.
Formerly Tetrarch42
Eddard might refuse to go South.
Bright Blue Eyes
Eddard would likely stand between Arya and Robert, Ice in hand and ready for a new rebellion, should the latter be stupid enough to press something like that. And if Cersei arranged it on her own, she'd be done for, as well as Joffrey. Robert would have them take the Grey and Black, hell, he may even abandon the throne to Ned! I wonder who would win that fight? Post-prime Robert or Post-prime Eddard? Robert was more formidable in his youth, but he certainly seems to have rusted much quicker than his old friend. littleRickon
I just don't think that Ned has grown too fat for his breastplate, so I bet on him in that fight any time.

Robert killed a boar with his guts hanging out. He's winning this fight.
Mladen
The question is flawed due to the fact Arya was never in danger of any sort of punishment. Nymeria, however, was.
SpringKing
In the larger sense, all 3 kids were punished. Joff getting hit in the head, bitten on the arm, Arya throwing Lion's Tooth in the Trident, Renly et al laughing at his fighting skills.Arya hidng out for 3 days thinking she may never see her family again, being separated from Nymeria, and having Mycah murdered.Sansa losing Lady. Cersei's demand for a wolf hide completed the cycle.
