Tony Inchpractice
He's still alive in the show. Anyone think he'll appear in season 6? And what about Edmure?
Gwydion of Llewdor
Depends if they end up doing that plotline. Now that Jaime is done with Dorne (hopefully) - the whole Riverlands arc might happen, but I'm doubtful.
Tony Inchpractice
Yes, the hope is that the next season will indeed be Dorne free; as free as the wind blows.
Gwydion of Llewdor
I don't so much mind the location, I just think they need to write the Sand Snakes better. Dorne in episode 9 was actually pretty decent, mostly because of Doran.
TheHouseHB
Since they are going back to the Riverlands I would put the odds of the Blackfish returning in season 6 at 60-40.
Gwydion of Llewdor
Is the return to the Riverlands confirmed?
TheHouseHB
Is the return to the Riverlands confirmed? Not sure it is confirmed, but it is implied since when they released the roles being cast it looked like they are looking for someone who could be the elder brother or septon meribald. ViniciusMJ
I think we will not see Blackfish nor Edmure until the end. Maybe they will get a mention towards the end of Season 7. A pity. The Blackfish is one of my Top 5 characters from the books (Doran, Asha, Tyrion and Varys make my list).
Wyman Manderly's Meat Pies
David Bradley said a while back that D&D said no return for season 5 but to expect a call for Season 6. Walder Frey is coming back so something RL is happening.
Ser Oromus Locke
There's also the casting call for ruffians that have stayed from their of protection the smallfolk the once swore to protect. It seems like a fraction of BwB-rejects. What I was wondering, is that Jaime may be kept alive for longer because NCW has a marketable face and his arc can be extended without much consequence for the end of story? What if he actually does die in early TWoW? Kicking NCW out early in Season 6 may not be the best move, so they use him to introduce a plot where no other main characters were present, they delayed the Riverlands-plot and kill him in early S7? Gwydion of Llewdor
Honestly, this would be an opportune time for D&D to introduce the Riverlands plot and everything surrounding it. Jaime returning to KL with a dead Myrcella and having to seek his own redemption for failing to save her. Brienne realising that she missed her opportunity with the candle and failed to save Sansa. Both of them would end up on a journey towards redemption, perhaps crossing paths again. Then the Great Northern Conspiracy could be added, the Manderlys could be in it, Edmure and the Blackfish could return. Jaime would actually get his Riverlands plot, perhaps interacting with the Freys, and they could finally introduce LSH on the show, with Brienne having more reasons to have failed her duty to Cat (Avenging Renly instead of saving Sansa). This is just wishful thinking of course, but if they're going to do anything with the Riverlands - Season 6 will be a good time for it. And if they do this, it'll make for some great viewing. Sure it'd be a out of order version of the story, but it'd work, I think.
Newstar
If Walder Frey is coming back in Season 6, I'd imagine the Blackfish will, too.
Colonel Green
Bradley didn't actually say he would be back for season 6, just that he'd been told he would be back, but not in seasons 4-5 (which, granted, does kind of imply season 6, but it wasn't explicit). I do think this feels like the right time, though. Brienne realising that she missed her opportunity with the candle and failed to save Sansa. Brienne would go after Sansa, not wander south to the Riverlands, in that situation.

RGBeyondAsshai
Is the return to the Riverlands confirmed? They are casting outlaws and particular Septons... it sounds like the Riverlands to me. I'm really ready to see Gendry on dry land and Blackfish back from his trip to the loo, also even though its away from the wall and Vale army, I'm hoping Sansa wants to go to Riverlands for Tully help to find her brothers and Brienne takes her, to get B's story back on track too. Hippocras
I don't so much mind the location, I just think they need to write the Sand Snakes better. Dorne in episode 9 was actually pretty decent, mostly because of Doran.People's default on these forums is to always blame the writing, but in the case of Dorne I think the bigger issue was the directing. If the Sand Snakes and Ellaria had ever actually come across as experiencing deep grief, everything they did would have made a lot more sense. But since none of them showed grief, we have to conclude they were not directed to. This was supposed to be their primary motivation and it just didn't read that way. IMO we will get the Riverlands this season, though not sure about Blackfish. He hasn't reappeared in the books either so hard to say where he might pop up. Indeed, I'm sure 'You want a good girl, but you need the bad pussy' was down to the directing.
Hippocras
Indeed, I'm sure 'You want a good girl, but you need the bad pussy' was down to the directing. one line has nothing to do with the problem. The problem was the primary motive did not read. Tyene being a young hypersexual is clearly a characterization you don't like, but that doesn't make it the problem.
